I will not evaluate the museum, but the front part of it: not worth it, I wasted my time going in there to take photos. Although, I would get a ticket and go inside if I had more time to spend there.

Otto Dix is presented in this exhibition to be an excellent artist with a turbulent life. He fought in the First World War in the trenches on the German side and was very unable to forget this ever. His graphics on this war are marvelous...More

Both the permanent collection and the temporary Otto Dix exhibition are phenomenal. This is the only place in the world to see two of Kandinsky's compositions (IV and X) under one roof but that's only the tip of the iceberg. The Portrait of the Dancer...More

I didn't expect it to be that rich with modern art. They have some very worldwide known paintings. You can easily spend hours here. It was not too busy, so we had time to enjoy every piece. Otto Fix exhibition starts as of 11 Feb.

I first visited K21. I can say that it was a bit too modern for me as I prefer late 19th to early 20th century art, but it was still quite enjoyable. I made sure that I had the combo ticket and instead of waiting...More

We visited the K20 and, although not massive fans of modern art, we enjoyed many of the paintings. The visit was somewhat spoilt by the surly staff who insisted that we stand at a metre from the paintings or an alarm would go off. If...More

Can't believe we almost overlooked this art gallery; it doesn't get the publicity it warrants. It has a huge tick list of German expressionists and American 20C artists. Well presented to show off each piece properly, be it widely spaced in huge rooms, or side...More

Firstly, it seems there are all kinds of pictures and reviews of the K21 mixed in here. They are completely different and at opposite ends of the city! The K20 is the main gallery and has one of the best collections of early 20th Century...More

Note that there are two buildings. K20 Grabbeplatz is at the Heinrich-Heine Allee stop, K21 Ständehaus is at the Graf-Adolf-Platz stop. There's a free shuttle bus to go from one to the other, though it is a pleasant walk if... More
