This is a lovely basilica, somehow overlooked due to its location. However, it's very easy to reach it - it's less than a 10-minute walk from the central station or the cathedral. The basilica boasts a beautiful high ceiling and lovely decorations. The acoustics is wonderful, too.

This was consecrated in 1247 and was the last of the 12 Romanesque churches to be built. I only got a view of it from the outside, but that was sufficient, as the outside is beautiful.

This church is one of the biggest in Cologne and stands very beautiful and proud. unfortunately it was closed while I was there which was a huge disappointment as it must be lovely inside.

St. Kunibert’s was completed in 1247 and is the youngest Romanesque church in Cologne. The church has beautiful stained glass windows dating back to the 13th century. It is the northernmost Romanesque church in Cologne and it’s facade faces the Rhine River. The windows are fine examples of medieval-era stained glass that radiates color when the sun is shining. There... More

easy to reach, the church is very nice with great original medieval stained glass windows; reconstructed after the WWII, a great place to take a break and meditate.

St. Kunibert is another Romanesque church. This church was completed in 1247. The main doorway has a beautiful door made of bronze with eight beautiful panels. There are beautiful stained glass windows in the church. There is a new church organ and we heard someone playing it, which added to our enjoyment.

This was my favorite Romanische church in Cologne. Interior had pleasing simple lines, large oil paintings, unusual eye level stations of the cross, and interesting fabric art. The later was displayed in a large glass case which made viewing possible from multiple angles. The church had been recently and authentically refurbished. An extensive lecture was being given during my visit.... More

This reconstructed church is a must see if you like architecture. It's bright and airy. If you are lucky enough you might catch an organ concert!
