A lot of modern buildings (especially those in the area I live it seems!) are hideous and distasteful. Cologne seem to have sorted this issue perfectly. Their modern architecture is quite pleasant to look at and kept clean and well maintained.
The modern concrete and glass buildings on the banks of the river offer a striking contrast to the historic area in which they stand. The three identical buildings are shaped like dockyard cranes which used to stand in the area before it was redeveloped.
I had a stroll along here after visiting the chocolate museum.
There really wasn't much to see or anything going on other then to look at some of the buildings and old canes there.
