Very thought provoking. Highly recommended to get an audio guide if not fluent in German. The ground and lower floors have displays in both German and English but the upper floors are in German only.

This former gestapo headquarters is well worth visiting, as others have mentioned it is a good idea to get an audio guide otherwise much will be missed unless fluent in German. It is not expensive. Ideally this building requires at least 2 visits as there...More

This museum is a grim reminder of how quickly a society can change, and how vulnerable those are who are targeted. It is also grimly funny how thoroughly mankind documents our worst behaviors.

This multi level museum has managed to preserve some amazing history whilst also detailing some of the atrocious crime committed under its roof. The lower 2 levels are in both German and English, unfortunately the upper 2 levels are in German only, which was disappointing...More

Sobering & engaging museum - a real effort has been made to touch on the individual victims that could be identified in this former Gestapo prison / bunker / interrogation centre. The graffiti messages from the prisoners were touching and reached out in a way...More

The concept is harsh indeed but it portrayed the Nazi times objectively. Only room for development would be the upper levels of the museum where the wall writings and explanations are only in German. Overall experience: great value for money

Wife and I visited the location. The Gestapo prison is as it was in the 30’s and 40’s. Very harrowing. The lower floor is the prison/jail. The upper floors details the progression of the National Socialists (Nazis). It is a very realistic and super self...More

This one is hard to say. Feelings are mixed. So many victims for nothing when viewed from the distance. Cellar served as prison and even in todays time when completely empty feels unpleasent, looks like horror. Faces in the exhibition on the photos speak looudly...More

I am very impressed that they kept the original graffiti in the cells. It really brings home the atrocities committed here. The lower part is in German and English but the upper floors are in German only which we found a little strange. Well worth...More

I think there is too much to take in for an 8yr old in the audio guide and as an English speaker rather than a German you need the audio guide because so many of the displays are in German. However you could do a much... More
