This giant Gothic cathedral, which until its completion in 1880 had been under construction for over 500 years, is perhaps Germany's most famous religious structure and includes two huge towers that serve as the defining symbol of Cologne's skyline.

Visiting the Cologne Cathedral is an absolute must for a visit to Cologne! We learned that Gerhard Richter designed one of the transcept windows and it is glorious! It was also fascinating to learn how the Cathedral mostly survived WWII while the rest of the city was leveled. We learned how the city came together to rebuild the Cathedral and... More

This is an amazing Cathedral near the Rhine river in Cologne. Once you walk inside, it nearly takes your breath away the size and scale of this amazing cathedral. We took an English tour, which lasted one hour. The tour was really geared towards adults and the children were really lost in what the guide was saying. I think the... More

Really impressive cathedral. The whole massive floor is covered with intricate mosaics, every window is an amazing piece of glass in lead.

A most spectacular Cathedral ornately adorned internally with an outer structure the like we will not see too often a typical sign of the power of the church in the past an awesome building

Absolutely beautiful, the climb to the top is well worth it despite the seemingly endless stairs! But if you can't manage it the views from outside are great too

You cannot visit Cologne without going to the Dom. I can't really do it justice with this review. It is spectacular.

Very beautiful cathedral with many details to enjoy. It is a huge and impressive place. The religious event that took place at the time of the visit was beautiful. Has a place to light candles. I recommend the visit.

I've not been into enough cathedrals to make a comparison but do make a trip down when you're in the area.

Biggest and (imo) most magnificent Cathedral in Germany. It's really up to its name and is a must-see when you're in Cologne, inside and outside. Too bad due to geographic reasons (or so I've heard) it's constantly in maintenance.

The cathedral is spectacular, it's really grand but we didn't get the chance to see inside, we will do this next time!
