Located Deutz side of the River Rhine is Rheinpark.
It's a nice oasis of calm, well kept, some nice well laid out pathways but it's nothing spectacular, it's a lovely and peaceful park which is why I love it ,views over the river are stunning, taking in the bridges that span the River Rhine is so pleasing on the eye ,viewing the buildings along the riverfront is special, if you're planning a holiday to Cologne its a park to most definitely check out.

The park is a haven away from the city, yet close. We arrived by the wonderful cable car and enjoyed a nice walk in beautiful surroundings.

The park was much nicer than expected, having seen some of the photos... It's nicely planted, spacious and with access to the riverside walk. Good.

Enormous park - not just a green space - right next to the Rhine. Kids' playground, fountains, pathways, stream & bridge, kids' train, crazy golf, 5-a-side football area, skateboarding, etc.

In the evening one part is full of flocks of birds that have descended.

One of many parks in Cologne and a very pleasant stroll.

Cologne is not exactly famous for its parks but Rheinpark is really good,an oasis of green down by the River Rhine, its location is so cool, nice paths to wander around and lovely views of the river and the impressive bridges and waterfront, nice relaxing area of Cologne and most definitely well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to this city on the River Rhine.

Not to be confused with the Western side where the Botanical and Zoological Gardens are, this park is welcoming people coming off the gondola ride. It is a perfect oppportunity for a stroll in the nature, for a coffee break and a quiet hour before returning to the city.

Located on the Western Bank of the Rhine the Rheinpark is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy nature.

It is about a 15 minute walk from Messe/Deutz station and a little bit closer to the Hohenzollern Bridge. There are plenty of places to sit and relax as well as activities if you have brought your children. There is a crazy golf, climbing wall, basketball court and miniature train (although this was not running on the day I visited).

There are magnificent views of the Rhine to enjoy and lots of people were using the part for cycling or on scooters. They also have concerts and events throughout the year so make sure you do your research.

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Rheinpark, it is a little off the beaten track but well worth it.

This park is beside the river Rhine so you get good views of the river and the Cathedral.

The train ride is good but a tad pricey.

There are plenty of seating areas.

It now needs a few kiosks and more toilets.

You have to walk a little while from the center but it definitely worth it as this park is amazing, with full of flowers, big green areas, and many opportunities for children. So with family you can spend hours here in good wheather. And you can also try the Seilbahn from here.

A perfect park for a summer day stroll with something to interest all ages. We strolled along the river from the Hohenzollern bridge so even getting there was a lovely walk. Pretty flower beds and fountains with a cute little train for the kids
