The cathedral's spire is the tallest structure in the town and can be seen for miles. The red brick structure is common among German churches but it is the spire that commands your attention. Worth a visit but only after spending time at the castle!

Standard but impressive building. One of many such as in Pomerania, be it Polish or German. These churches are often empty on the German side and at the same time they are some cultural centers. In Poland, people go to church for religious purposes and only then for cultural purposes.

The church in the heart of the attractive town has a rich history and some nice treasures, like stained glass windows and late medieval brass plates on the wall, parts of old frescoes etc. It is also used for contemporary exhibitions. The tower is visible from afar. The entrance is free.

Here I see not only an imposing building, which characterizes the city from the outside and is an attraction. Schwerin Cathedral also exerts this attraction on the inside. Just one example, the specially decorated cross of the Saviour above the altar. Very worth seeing church.

We found this church is stupendous with high tower, typical gothic church in northern Germany. It is located on the main square and inside its interior is simple. Worth a visit when you arrive at the town main square

A beautiful cathedral! Highly recommend paying 2 euros to walk up to the tower. There, you will have a 360 degree look of the beautiful city of Schwerin as you walk around the tower. This does include a long spiral staircase.

The churches and cathedrals of Germany are elegant as opposed to garish. The architecture and use of stone and brickwork are tributes to the craftsmanship and love put into the construction. This Cathedral is a beautiful example.

We have visited a lot of churches over the years. Although, the church is large and dates to the 13th century it was us so-so. First build as a Catholic Cathedral but was confiscated and given to the Lutheran's.
Most of the walls were white washed so any wall paintings had been covered over.
