Schwerin's Castle is undoubtedly a "must" stop. The outside is stunning - the gardens and lake walks would be the perfect setting for a warm day stroll. Even on the cold April day we visited, a quick walk to enjoy the impressive castle views was...More

We couldn't go inside the castle, but we went around visiting the gardens. The Castle is impressive from outside. The weather was foggy and gave a dramatic atmosphere to the visit

Large and beautiful castle. The view is impressive! If I am bird the view from above would be even more grand! The spring and summer would be even better view.

Self guided tours are 8.50 euros and an audio pack is another 2 euro's. In terms of travel from Berlin to there I would suggest going to the schwerin web site for more details and trip packages. Hope this helps.

I booked an excursion with the Celebrity cruise ship during our port stop at Warnemunde. My suggestion is to take a bus tour around the city & a visit to the Schwerin castle if you don't want the long hours to Berlin.

While Mitte is a closer station be sure that your train stops there. Most inter city trains will be stopping at the main station.
