The complex consists of the actual aquarium and two exhibitions (giants of the seas and evolutionary history or something similar). The whole thing is not too big, but still diverse. There is probably a new area to the North Sea with many smaller basins with native animals. There are also sea lions and penguins, as well as many tropical sea creatures, including a large pool of sharks and rays. There is also a very small area with other animals, especially birds and reptiles.
If you like aquariums, this one will also please, even if it is partly narrow and dark and noisy. Slightly wider gears and better acoustics would do the whole thing good. In itself, the aquarium is not bad, only the price is a bit high for a relatively small experience.

Great aquarium, also suitable for small children. Great clean tanks and lots of animals. Of course 20 EUR is a lot of money per person over 16, but it's worth it.

An interesting aquarium, located directly at the sea. Not to crowded when we have been there - a definitive visit-must-do when being around.

Disappointing - we paid 37 euros for 2 adults, the 3-year-old child was allowed in for free. Because of the renovations in the aquarium, there was very little to see. The only interesting things were the penguins and the seals, although the water and the windows were so cloudy that you could hardly see the three of them. We were through after about 45 minutes, but only because the little one took a little longer. Definitely too expensive for the entrance fee, a shame

The aquarium was easy to find. Unfortunately, all the parking spaces were taken, so we had to park in front of the Marine Museum. This is a bit of a problem in bad weather and with small children.

Booking the tickets via the website worked well! Another positive thing to mention is that children up to 4 years old were free. The entrance fee for adults is €20 per person, however, which is a bit steep.

Entry with the online tickets worked without any problems.

The aquarium was packed! No entry stop! Some narrow corridors that were bursting at the seams. A no-go with a small child!!!

The highlight were the seals. Unfortunately, we couldn't watch the feeding as it was not possible due to overcrowding.

Overall, we were disappointed!

We wanted to go to the aquarium to see the special exhibition and admire the fish. We were shocked at the entrance ticket office. Well, things like that cost money to run and if we actually see something here, that's acceptable. But unfortunately it wasn't. The aquarium was completely overcrowded. People were very rude to each other and some of the children were pushed away. Everything was very cramped. The tanks were well designed, but I've seen nicer ones. All in all, it was disappointing and we won't go back. For the same money, you can go to the zoo in Münster or Osnabrück and you'll definitely see more there.

Family separated because no entry with "Croozer", no alternative wanted. Unfortunately, entry with our Coozer was not possible. On the window it simply said: no handcarts allowed. The Croozer could not be parked, it was not allowed entry: we were intercepted at the entrance. We should have brought it in the car: bad if you are arriving with 2 small children and the train... Strollers and wheelchairs of all kinds are allowed. The employees followed the instructions of their superiors. We would not call this family-friendly. An alternative could not and would not be found. Folding it up or something similar was also not desired. No parking on the terrace or something similar. It could only have been left unprotected in front of the aquarium on the promenade.
So if you have such a vehicle with you: look for a protected place beforehand.
In the exhibition, which we visited with a few families right when it opened, it would have been easy to leave the Croozer there, there were niches and plenty of space in the dinosaur exhibition. A real shame. Where there's a will, there's a way. But the employees didn't want to risk a warning, which we could understand.
So we had to be separated as a family on our trip. The kids were more than sad and disappointed that their dad had to look after the Croozer. The kids - 5 and 7 - had to go in alone with 1 adult.
31 euros for 1 adult and 2 children, although the exhibition couldn't be visited in its entirety due to renovation work. Expensive. We were through in 45 minutes - it could have been done faster, but luckily the sharks and the ray were a highlight.
Value for money and family-friendly without a car: not so...

Apart from Maestro card. Nearest atm 2,7 km away b/c several closed. Not too happy about this with two kids, of course we brought cash (this is Germany, after all...) but not enough to cover entrance (€33), lunch & playground (€4,50/child).

Not inspiring from outside but very interesting and fun for my 16 year old and 5 year old. The penguins were very funny drawing large crowds! There's also a soft play area at a small extra cost and possibly the best gift shop in Wilhelmshaven. great for our rainy day at the beach!
