On a cold day, the wind takes the damp cold air straight into your bones, in spite of the lovely wool blanket you wrap around yourself as you get into the bucket for the ride up the hill to the monument. The view is fabulous,...More

My wife, who hates heights, and I rode the Seilbahn up and down. The views of the Rhine, Ruedesheim, Bingen and the vineyards were fantastic. The cars are not overly high above the ground and the ride is smooth. There is no waiting; cars come...More

We selected the perfect time of year. The views were in full summer colors. Our teen age children even enjoyed the rides and the views, as did my 80 year old mother.

It is a good experience to take the cable car ride uphill to have nice views over the area. The ride is smooth and enjoyable with beautiful views over the vineyards and river. But remember that there are often long queues waiting to go uphill...More

From the outside looks like a rickety, primitive cable car, but once aboard (two per car) it was a very smooth and peaceful ride to the top of the valley and lovely views across the river. Recommended, although not sure what it would be like...More

Nice cable car ride up to the Niederwalddenkmal (Rüdesheim's National Monument). You are over the vineyards, Rhine River, and the town as you get closer to the monument. Definite must do. If we had had more time, we would have walked down. Round trip: Adults...More

Great experience with an astonishing view over the vineyards. The trip is very smooth and absolutely worth. Up on the hill you have the opportunity to make an easy forest hiking

We came to Rüdesheim with a friend from Mainz, who suggested riding the cable car. I was so glad she did! It was a lovely way to get to the Niederwald monument, very relaxing and with great views of the Rhine valley and the vineyards...More

We took a trip on the cable car to the top of the mountain. The views, on a beautiful sunny day, were amazing. There was no shelter in the cable car, so I don't think I'd want to travel on a cold day.
