The ride up through the vineyards offers a great view of Ruedesheim, also Germania the monument built after the Franco Prussian war, and the nunnery of Hildegarde fame. Good view of cable cars too. It would be a steep walk otherwise. Commentary in German and...More

We were feels no a little lazy, and our cruise ship was moored about as far as one can get from the town centre. So we took the 'Noddy train' and were there safely in no time at all. It was fun.

Our tour boat called it the choo choo train. It is a few enclosed wagons pulled by a tractor. Easy way to get from our boat into town.

The little train is fun to ride. The journey is about 10 minutes. It does takes you to the cable car Station and centre of town where all the shopping that you need to be. Nice little treat.

We took this small train from our mooring to the mechanical music museum in the centre of the town. An interesting experience which saved a walk.

Yes it is all of the above - cheesy, touristy, and fun. Takes you through the old town on some VERY narrow streets with some commentary thrown in. Why not?

Just like Noumea this little train takes you on an interesting and informative excursion of Rudesheim. Our driver/guide was fantastic and it was heaps of fun. Such a perfect way to see this quaint little village. Highly recommend.

Yes it is. No worry it is only a 10 minute walk. The walk is quite nice. Walk along the shore, cross the train tracks and you will be down town a few streets away.

Not sure what the Campingplatz is? The train does not travel the main tourist lanes, as they are too small for the train. You may be able to take a folding scooter, it would have to be small.
