Yes there are a lot of torture museums in Europe for the touristic reasons but the one in Rüdesheim is much different and much better to see I believe

Only 6 euro to enter so something to do if its raining and you want to take shelter for half an hour. The displays are a bit amateurish and not all have English translations - and probably not suitable for small children.

I have been to a number of torture museums in Germany - this one is excellent and rates only behind the related museum in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Lot's of authentic historical information and exhibits.
