The journey to Rudesheim by boat takes you through the spectacular Rhine Gorge with this little place a great place to stop off. It’s a quaint little place which is dominated by this memorial which is best reached by a Gondola/cable car which you can...More

This monument overlooking the Rhine River commemorates the unification of Germany in the mid/late 19th century. The work is beautifully done and the situation is spectacular.

This monument is best reached by the cable car ride to the top of the hill. It is possible to reach the area by foot, but this may not be possible if you are on a tight schedule. The monument celebrates the unification of Germany...More

Great place for taking photos with lots of places to wander and walk. Huge statue and surrounding area with big staircase to platforms overlooking vineyards and river. Lovely mature trees all around. Gets very busy.

Really wonderfull view from up here, the monument is enormous, and interesting to read about. We went here with the lifts from Assmannshausen and Then did the 30 minuts walk to the monument.

The monument is very impressive, but the real joy is the views over the Rhine that the location gives you. It's a a weeping vista taking in not just the river but the vineyards on either side.

We purchased tickets for the tram ride to the top and back—well worth the money! (Only 2-3 people per cart but you pay per person not per cart.) The monument was an interesting historical lesson. Walking the grounds and viewing the nearby countryside was breathtaking!...More

We took the gentle cablecar up to the Monument, which is an imposing structure. Great views of the river below from the surrounding balconies.

Interesting but not highly recommended or a must do. The town has enough beautiful and pretty places to visit. Just a charming village!

The gondolien is indeed for two Persons but it is comfortable. We visited the place outside the peak tourist season and did not need to queuing for the ticket office. July might be different. Better to reserve time for that... More
