I loved this museum! I spent 2 hours there because I went around the whole thing twice. There are a few main signs in English, but the rest are in German. It's 100% worth it anyway. Seriously, so cool.

Absolutely incredible collection. Such an interesting, educational and tasteful display of the worldwide rituals surrounding death. The main section of the building is so full of air and light that there's little gloom to be found, even as you're waking amongst cemetery statuary other grave...More

This place is extraordinary. I don't know what I had expected but the museum was so enlightening and objective in describing death in different cultures. I have learned a lot and will definitely go again next time I am in Kassel.

Who posted the address of this museum as being on Gartenstrasse? That's at the other end of town. Completely wrong. This museum is right next door to the Grimmwelt museum. Lots of interesting artifacts from various time periods and other cultures showing how death is...More

It is not for everyone. It is basically a museum about death. How other cultures deal with it. There were grave markers, different styles of vehicles associated with funerals. Dress and trinkets that go along with death. It was definitely interesting. They only have a...More

I was visiting in town and happened to be at the museum next door. So, I thought why not give this place a try. I have to say it was not that interesting. Seems like it is only the beginning of a museum. If one...More
