Terrible, full of drunk people, homeless, drug addicts. The Bahnhof and the surrounding area is really terrible.

There are tons of homeless people who pee and poo right inside the station, and also they get drugs. It's disgusting.

The Frankfurt Main Train Station

The Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof is german for 'The Frankfurt Main Train Station'. This is where one can get all the trams and S-Bahns. Most importantly this is where one can get the speed trains, Intercity Expresses (ICE) and regional trains. The area inside the train station is clean and nice but outside the train station one can see a different side of Frankfurt, sometimes dirty with people abusing drugs laying on the streets. Although it might look scary for first timers its kind of safe.

I took a train from Frankfurt hauptbahnhof to Stuttgart in February 2023. The station was busy when I visited but easy navigate. I booked my train ticket using the Eurail app.

Once leave station theres druggie everywhere. Stopped from coffee in cafe and got asked for money by 20 people. Once left on first day two people fighting outside over drugs.

We had a good experience with trains in Germany

We flew to Frankfurt and spent four nights touring the Christmas markets on our own. Because we used trains, we became familiar with Frankfurt's main train station. It is located on a couple of levels, with the subways under the station and the trams outside. Intercity trains tend to be on the main level. There are plenty of stores. It is easy to buy tickets and get around.

Great looking station from the outside. Can be very crowded at times but its a well connected station. The signs are very visible and understandable. Many fold outlets and reasonably priced.

It has a great information center, it connects you to so many destinations, lots of options and running all day, taxis outside. It’s an excellent train station, I wish they would print the tickets in English too.

Won't be back to frankfurt

This has to be the dirtiest city in Europe, just back from a long weekend and whilst all the restaurants are really clean and the people friendly the streets are really bad with groups of what seem like immigrants openly selling drugs and the smell of urine Infront of the main train station would make you sick
