- MohsenReyhanehHannover, Germany8 contributionsZoo Frankfurtthe zoo is well-organized and easy to navigate, making it an enjoyable experience for families especially with children . One aspect of the zoo that I find most admirable is its Grzimekhaus building, which is home to many rare and endangered species of birds and reptiles. I also enjoyed the "Big Cat Jungle" exhibit which includes big carnivorous cats like lions, tigers and jaguars.Visited May 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 April 2023
- Boi80Brisbane, Australia58 contributionsIt's alright. Not the bestI've been to many zoos around the world, and this one is borderline the worst. Animals don't seem to have appropriate habitats, a lot are overgrown with weeds. Whilst I understand I am in Germany, some more translations would have been nice, or an audio guided tour maybe. Was a good morning out, but wouldn't recommend to go out of your way forVisited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 August 2023

The ugly: The staff were virtually non existent and the ones we did see were very unfriendly! Would I visit again? Absolutely NOTVisited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 28 September 2023

The Frankfurt Zoo is perfect for everyone, very fascinating for kids too!! Plan around 3 to 4 hours to visit the zoo. For a complete tour I would say the whole day!! Its fascinating to watch the animals they even have a dark room where animals that live in the dark in the wild live in. IN summer they usually have a peacock strolling around living his best life!! Check to see if you can spot him on your next visit!! Happy travels!!!

Walking into the entrance of the zoo first requires a ticket purchasing which I found to be of a fair price and the lady behind the desk on this day September 30th to be very pleasant and fluent in English enough for us get through the needed details to pay though I did attempt to do this in German.
The entrance of the outside zoo area was like walking into a jungle. The areas of the zoo are fantastic and green walks down the path. It is a very beautiful sight. The animals are very well cared for and in one of the areas you can observe the staff of the zoo preparing meals for the animals.
The zoo is very well architecturally designed and is also like a beautiful botanical garden with all the green vibrant areas. The zoo boasts animals I have not seen in the other zoos I have visited such as an area with bats.
Though I enjoyed the zoo and the souvenir store afterwards, quite a few of the exhibits were closed or being renovated.
I recommend visiting if you are a family with small children as it's educational but please note that none of the signs or information include English translations.
It was a nice experiment taking around 3 hours of time to get all the way around and boasting some beautiful photo opportunities and a petting zoo of cute goats.

We liked the experience. The children enjoyed it and had many fun. It was cool. Just the ice-cream I found expensive.

We had a lovely time in our visit. Even tho it was hot (around 29 degrees) we managed to saw a lot of animals. It is a small zoo, so you can be done with it in 3 hours or less (which is nice if you want to visit more parts of the city) . They have some “feedings” around 3 pm which is nice as you see a lot of cute animals funning around.

I really can't understand why this really poor zoo gets good comments. If you never visited really nice zoos maybe you consider this as good. Most of the animals were not visible in their cages, the cages were not good enough for the animals. For example the penguins were in the water under 35 Celcium degrees. Very poor garden

We got the zoo, we lined up to get a ticket at the zoo and we couldn’t believe how cheap it was. It was €13.00 each adult that was with a conservation euro which they don’t ask you if you’d like to do they just do it which not complaining it’s definitely the cheapest Zoo we have ever been too. Alongside it being so cheap we couldn’t believe how clean the Zoo public area were. Every other couple of yards we’re bins that had waste, paper and glass which also had fag bins attached to every bin.
The Zoo grounds were pretty big so it took us a few hours to walk around specially when you’re looking at the animals that were actually in there enclosures.
My favourite part of the entire zoo was the goat enclosure where you can go inside and pet the goats which is also great for kids being supervised by an adult.
There are not a lot of food options there was 1 stand by the lake and a couple of ice creams stands around the zoo but that was it. The food is overpriced (like in every zoo), but at the same time it's not really good. Pretty sure they over charged us as well.
Within the first 30 seconds of the Zoo there were empty enclosures which we didn’t think much off until we walked around more and just found more and more empty enclosures. I’m not sure if this is due to the lack of staff or just because of some businesses are still struggling are Covid. Half the animals they said they had on their website weren’t out or even there. The Biggest attractions a Zoo normally has is Lions, Tigers etc and we didn’t see them in there inside enclosure or there outside enclosure which was a shame. The also closed one of there bigger attractions which was why my boyfriend wanted to go to this zoo which was the Monkey House which was a massive shame.

We spent 5 hours at this wonderful zoo. Firstly the price is very reasonable, about a third of the cost of a uk zoo. There was so much to see, the enclosures were well maintained, we really did enjoy this place. Minor downside was the lack of food available , so take sandwiches with you. But all in all this was a great day

Hi, we are visiting the city in early July - Just enquiring if Frankfurt Zoo have any sloths?

Tunstall, UK347 contributions
I visited today and they have a two toed sloth, or in German, a zwei finger faultier. it's in the twilight animal enclosure. Because of how high it was hiding you don't get to see it the first window it's posted to be in, but threat not, the walking route takes you passed the two of the same exhibit before you exit. The sloth can usually be found hanging out and 'tolerating' small monkeys (think they were marmoset's) jumping around in thr same exhibit. :)
