Really enjoyed the exhibits both the old masters and more modern painting. Very airy and easy to wander at your own pace. Cafe and bookshop brilliant next to entrance.

Spent an afternoon at the Staedel Museum. They do have a large collection that is interesting but too rooted in religious iconography for me. I don't need that many paintings of Mary and child, but that is totally a personal observation.

I went to the Staedel Museum on a beautiful April morning. It cost 14€, which I still struggle with when you compare it to the great museums of other cities that are free. I certainly didn't mind supporting the arts. I thought it was small, but found many rooms with some very interesting works from both the famous and obscure... More

Ever dreamed of spending minutes , hours in a museum discovering an unknown most beautiful collection of Flemish and European primitives in a - only for specialists - known museum on the banks of the Main river in a city of finance ? YES , do it and take a trip to Frankfurt's Schaumainkai. The first ever museum I would... More

This brought back memories of tall rooms, little to see, snooty attendants and a big price tag. I had been told I had to visit this place, but will not be going again.

The museum contains a variety of artwork of contemporary artists: paintings, sculptures, and installations. The special architecture, consisting of an old building with a brand new basement behind, is a piece of art itself. The museum is easily reachable by foot from the river Main. I was lucky to be able to enjoy a temporary exhibition of an international artist,... More

Steeped in history this museum turned 200 years old in the spring of 2015. Originally the home of Herr Städel this beautiful mansion has been turned into a great museum of art. Bequeathed to the city of Frankfurt in 1815 along with Städel's personal art collection the museum hosts a themed art collection each quarter along with art that is... More
