The old town area of Frankfurt was more interesting part of the city although the 17th century half wooden houses were built to the original design in 1988. Still an interesting place for tourists and better than the more modern areas.

Some of the restaurants do not accept credit cards in this area. Most business wanted cash only. Very inconvenient for tourisr!

A must-go when you are in Frankfurt. A variety of things to be done: sightseeing, people watching, souvenir shopping, and eating in one of the many cafes and restaurants.

Nice area to visit if you are on a short visit to Frankfurt. Walking distance to Cathedral and the strand. Something tells me it has been reconstructed after the war, at least it felt like an erzats. Oh well, nice photo opportunity.

Yes, this area is mostly reconstructed but it's been done very well and is incredible to experience. Walk around, enjoy, have a coffee or beer on the plaza and imagine the sights and sounds of centuries past.

The Romerberg is the Frankfurt version of the Grand Place in Brussels but a bit smaller.

You will definitely walk pass this place if you go to the river side.

Lots of nice buildings there.

Learned so much the walking tour that started right there in the square. Quaint spots to enjoy a Kaffee after touring the Romer.

Very beautiful and well worth place to visit while being in Frankfurt:) it is the center of the city - you have plenty of cafe & restaurants & activities around.
The building of Ratskeller (council room) adds extra beauty to this place. We had breakfast in Italian restaurant from where it was a nice view to the Alter Markt and we also tried Glühwein🍷in front of fountain ⛲️
I think the card of Römerberg are trees planted there (I tried to check in Google what are those trees- could not find name) but you can also see them while passing bridge to New side of Frankfurt

Best place to learn Frankfurt history. Every major event is done at the Romer!! The christmas market especially!! Must go to especially for first timers in Frankfurt. At the Romer you can find two museums that teach about Frankfurt and German history.
