Nice place and must see when in Darmstadt. Wouldn't travel to Darmstadt only to see it, though. Nothing out of the ordinary, I'd say.

This place will surprise you, the city itself is not really famous for either surroundings or historic buildings. However in its very heart you will find this collection off art deco/art nouveau buildings. In walking distance there is a rose garden with historical buildings and...More

Another old German city full of wonderful surprises. Old town very picturesque with some amazing architectural gems. This is also the home of Merck, the chemical giant who are everywhere and sponsor the local football team too.

Very nice place, not only for culture- and art-interested people. Great view over Darmstadt and area from the Hochzeitsturm (Wedding tower). Very recommendable

Lovely site, celebrating the splendour or Jugendstil, Beautiful lay out, lovely architecture, interesting exhibitions. A bit difficult to get nearby with a car, limited parking place. Simple but adequate restauration with a terrace. Great information booklets available.

Currently under restauration for review by the UNESCO board - Mathildenhoehe is still a worthy visit on top of the hill - even if only for the architecture and everything else that is happening in the artist colony. The whole sight is clearly being upgraded...More

A former artists' colony with a wonderful museum and beautiful houses. The Wedding Tower is incredible, the Russian Orthodox Chrurch is stunning. Words can't do this place justice!!

I guess the dates for 2018 are not out yet, but you should be able to make plans according to the 2017 opening times around holidays. Prices will most likely be accordingly. Do visit the museum. It has all the Jugendstil... More
