About
Reeperbahn is Hamburg’s party central, comprising everything from nightclubs and erotic theaters to cabarets and art galleries. In the 1960s, the district’s dive bars also played host to bands like The Beatles and The Jets. In the day, check out the Panoptikum wax figure museum, visit a market at the Spielbudenplatz square, and snap a photo with the Beatles monument. When night falls, head to one of the dynamic nightclubs and bars. You might want to plan your visit during events and festivals, where the area comes alive with concerts, as well as art, literature, and film exhibitions. – Tripadvisor

good place, good people. Not a lots to see, but the vibe of the city is very good
We were fortunate to visit during the UNITY festival.... the whole area was alive and abuzz with activities. Concert stages and food stalls lined the city center...
Alster Lake is beautiful, for those who love to walk or cycle, Alster lake presents the perfect experience
church of St. Micheal's, the port, Reeperbahn street&the warehouse district are different experiences
food is varied, with options of different cuisines available in plenty.
a must mention Restaurant is MAZE MAZE is excellent for dining
High end shopping can be done along Alster Lake, while budget shopping is good at Billstedt Center ( PS: billstedt centre has acafe serving wonderful Tres Leche cake - not to be missed)

Day trip to Ludwig is definitely warranted

We have found the parking to be free and incredibly close and accessible to visit.
We found the windows to be well maintained and of good insulation with new UPVC frames of matching colours.
Dissatisfied however with your customer service when the window was closed in our faces.
Nice touch with all the cashpoints easily accessible and available to guests.
Beer was of adequate temperature and volume served in nice glasses.
Some advice for the management maybe having a customer service desk and implementing a no phone policy for your staff.

I went with friends (big music fanatics) as part of a self-guided Beatles walking tour in Hamburg. It seems quite trashy, at least in the morning. I think my friends got a lot out of seeing where the Beatles performed and lived, but otherwise it is quite trashy.

It’s absolutely disgusting .. The trashiest place on earth .. homeless and drugged people literally everywhere on the streets, not well maintained, everytime i go there i have to see people going crazy on the barbie song .. people don’t know how to party anymore and only care about getting drunk and wasted .. not classy at all.

This was my third visit to Hamburg in last 25 years.
First time, at my 26 y I was thrilled with the area and hanged out there.
Second time in 2008 I was 39, and regarded it as an average place that I've seen better on many places around the world.
This June with my 53 y I was very disappointed how the place went down. It became a sketchy area with so many addicts, homeless, beggars and other suspicious characters and at the same time so less visitors and tourists.

It's not the best part of Hamburg. A lot of bars, drunk people, sex shops, garbage and a lot of homeless people. It's seem to me as I got to Thailand, Pangan sex street.

Hamburg has so much more to offer than this.

This area seems as only drink, party and don't have control.

We went here twice in one weekend and both nights were radically different from each other.

The saturday night was incredibly busy with loud music and people everywhere watching the football and bikers revving up motorcycles and live bands on with a nice enough atmosphere and you didn't feel uncomfortable so it was absolutely fine.

The sunday night was a completely different experience. It was near stone dead with a large percentage of places closed. This then caused a different and way more seedy atmosphere. We were approached all night by seedy characters that were very pushy. It just didn't feel like it was a safe area at all and I'd suggest if you're in Hamburg on a sunday night then you find somewhere else to drink if you want to feel like you can relax.

The Reeperbhan is not a place i would recommend to visit if you go to Hamburg unless your visiting the waxworks or going to the theatre as they are both in the Reeperbhan area ,
The Reeperbhan is really seedy and depressing, it's dirty , tacky , run down , lots of homeless people , it's covered in graffiti,
The Beatles Platz is not worth a visit it's basically five medium sized metal framed statues which look awful ,
The only good thing I would say is I did find a couple of tourist shops that sold items a lot cheaper than you would find in other tourist shops in Hamburg.

Walked the Reeperbahn today searching for the venues the Beatles had played. All still exist but do little to advertise their interesting past and were difficult to find. The area clearly had its day in the 1960s. Any charm it may have had then, is long since gone. The streets were full of strip clubs and bars. The pavements were full of rubbish and broken bottles. I’m glad I came during the day as I do not think I would like to be here at night. We did however find an amazing cafe called Der Kiezbacker which sold the best coffee and cakes we had had on our visit to Hamburg. So even though the Reeperbahn is clearly not to my taste I will be back tomorrow for breakfast.
