Memorial to Soliders

This monument stands in tribute to the 76th Infantry Regiment that fought in World War One. As other reviewers have mentioned, it was raised by Nazi Germany as propaganda in the build up to war, but was saved from demolition after the Second World War after it was rededicated to all soldiers who died in the Second World War.

The monument features a concrete block. All around the block are relief sculptures of soldiers marching one after another almost as a futile gesture of endless wars.

Unusual memorial

This is a memorial built in 1936, by the Nazis, to commemorate World War I soldiers from the 76 infantry Regiment.

I’m guessing there were some nice debates in the city about whether or not to keep it.

A war memorial that you only at second glance react on...

War Memorial is still not so common in Germany. Still, one can think that they should be everywhere ... Just this monument is quite discreet, but at second glance do you notice what it is about. Germany's relationship with the Second World War is still complicated, yet is their tribute to fallen heroes as honest as anyone else's.

Shamefull German soldiers that executed criminal orders, walked away from killing millons of innocent civilians.

Shameful german soldiers from ww2, that executed criminal orders invading 21 countries and killing millions of innocent civilians just because they wanted to believe they were a "superior human race". Walked away from justice and still lived a live with all the stolen properties from their victims. Here they even have their monument, i spit on in every time i walk bye.

Rare German War Memorial

This is a rare thing to find in Germany, and an honest maker for those that died for their country, located on the edge of the park and adjacent to the road
