The historic windmill is located next to the visitor center, where timed tickets and restrooms are available. Also, buses to and from Potsdam stop here, making it easy to use public transportation in the area.

The mill is a reconstruction and houses an exhibition about the history of the mill and some interesting information about processing of grain.

Bit expensive for the size but the windmill was very neat. They let you go up stairs to see the mill in action.

A large working windmill that stands very proud, there is an opportunity to see it close up for a charge.

The Historische Mühle is another scenic landmark at Sanssouci Park. You would think of yourself being in the Netherlands once you see the mill

If you are already at Sans Souci, it is a no-brainer to stop into the windmill next door. I am always amazed at how simple windmills are, but I find them important, especially when they were the main source of generating power of any kind. Is this the most amazing windmill ever, no. However, you are already here so you might as well stop in. There is even a cute store.

The history and practice of operating windmills can be studied during a visit to this windmill on the grounds of Sans Souci Palace. Its the first time I saw examples of all the cereals that had been ground here and watched the great gears in action. Really worth the 4 euros to go upstairs.

For a reasonable entrance fee - or already included in a Sanssouci Parc visiting package, one can climb up the stairs to the top platform for a beautiful view of the Sanssouci grounds. There are also a number of exhibits demonstrating how grains were used to obtain flour and prepare breads. The windmill is actually working which provides a really interesting live-demonstration of the process.

This was a first for us.
We used our 19 euro all inclusive ticket to visit. Even though there is virtually nothing in English except a touchscreen with some information, it was great to climb up and up to get to the top and see the windmill in action. Good photo displays on each platform as you're ascending. You can also go out onto the viewing platform for some views.

This is a functioning windmill. After seeing several floors of exhibits, we bought some nice bread, made from the flour ground by the mill (though not baked here).
