Cool grouping of Russian style houses built to keep some Russians behind after WWII. They were given a house that looked like home and space to grow crops.

We traveled around by the hop-on hop-off bus. It is not worth it to make a stop here, since you have to wait an hour for the next bus to come. Alexxandrowka is super small, all you have are just a few beautiful Russian-style houses.

We drove here and parked the car in the main street and just walked around taking photos of different houses. There is a restaurant with a nice garden in one of them and a small museum in another.

Fantastic little Russian village in the middle of Potsdam. Very charming even in the winter and one can only imagine how gorgeous when fruit trees and flowers are in bloom. Impressive gardens surround each house. Tea house could not accommodate our large party of 8 and oddly enough was ran by people speaking German only... no English or Russian. I would have loved to have some tea , but overall, it’s worth a visit. Odd and awesome piece of history.

We spotted this restaurant on the hop-on, hop-off bus tour of Potsdam and decided to pop back for lunch en route to Cecilienhof, after going round Sansoucci palace. It was well worth it - delicious borsch, excellent pelmenyi (filled dumplings) and a sweet cheese pancake, washed down with Russian beer. Great service and a warm setting on what was a cold day. We really enjoyed our visit.

This was a very interesting neighbourhood to walk around. We were very surprised by the houses that reminded us of Swiss chalets or Austrian cuckoo clocks. This was totally unexpected. The houses were very spread out as each one had been given part of an orchard. The houses were originally given to Russian band members in the army. We'll worth a visit
