Well, actually it's situated on the bank of lake Jungfernsee, which is a part of river Havel :)
You get there either by bus or the "Wassertaxi" (water taxi, ships running on a schedule as part of the public transport in Potsdam).
When you're there, I highly recommend to visit the restaurant in the gardens just around the corner aka "Kleingartenverein Sacrow/Meedehorn e.V". It's not "high cuisine", but you get home-made cakes, regional food and drinks at a very nice price by very friendly staff.

This Church is hidden away in the forest on the edge of the Havel River. They have now much improved the parking (free) and all the paths around the Church and park land are wheelchair friendly. The Church itself is unusual in the fact that there are no windows on the ground level. The are all near the top of the building for safety!! As you walk around the Church on a stone path (maybe unsuitable for some people to walk around as it is uneven) you notice the comments that have been left on the bricks, some dating back tens of years. You then nitice certain types of indentations in the columns and on the exterior walkway. These are bullet damage. The Church itself is also worth going in to see. The parks around are good for all the family but dogs must be kept on a lead. Children can look for animal foot prints at the waters edge. I've never seen toilet facilities here.
