A very impressive large statue. You need to take various photo shots from different angles. Close to lots of other attractions and places to eat and drink.

In the midst of the center of Bremen, across the Town Hall and looking at the St Petri Dom, you will find this huge ancient figure from the middle ages. Something to see!!!

Impressive statue from Middle Ages. Interestingly, the distance between its knees is exactly one Bremen 'elle', a historical unit of measurement. However, be aware the statue and people around can be quite an obstacle while running across the square to the Town Musicians.

It's on Markplatz. Symbolizes Bremen's independence as a hanseatic league town (Roland's nephew of Charlemagne), built in 1404, a model for similar statues in other hanseatic league towns.
