Cool riverside beer garden

Great place to stop and have a relaxed drink in the sunshine, real sun trap and perfect spot to watch the world go by. Needs more umbrellas!

Not recommending the Pizza, took them 20 min to prepare, forgot the cheese and was cold. Also the stuff is not really friendly.

Great little bar by the river, now themed with the Berlin Amplemann 'crossing' image. Sit inside or out and enjoy the vibe. Can thoroughly recommend the dark craft beer and the vegetable chips and dip. If you want to while away an hour in the sun stop by.

Right opposite the Bode is an open park with the Strandbar offering beers and food and lounge chairs by the banks. At night, the area comes alive with music and dancing. Late one evening while I was exploring by the area, the lively atmosphere was really engaging and if wasn’t for the lack of time, I would have been drawn... More

Stopped by in the day for a cool drink in the shade, a refreshing time out from the heat and activity of museum island. Returned in the evening drawn by the sound of authentically scratchy recordings of argentine tango music to a magical scene of lights reflected in the water and couples focused on the music and one another. Surrounded... More

This was made for warm summer evenings. Great music. Set dance floor. Music to listen to rather than be blasted by. Deck chairs set round. Facing the river and beautiful buildings. Sit back. Sip your beer. Enjoy

Nice place to have a drink however don't waste your time for the theater if you don't speak German. Even though they say it's with English subtitles, the quality is very disappointing. Spelling error in almost every single world, impossible to read and understand the plot. A lot of people enjoyed the show so I guess it was very good,... More

A friend and I went here while touring Berlin. It is located right at the river and it is a nice place to soak up some sunshine. Drink-prices are ok

Strandbar Mitte seems to have it all. There is delicious pizza, cheap drinks and free dancing all along the water facing the sunset. There is also a small theatre in between the restaurant and bar which apparently is quit good. This is the kind of place you come to when you want to relax and enjoy yourself. Definitely make your... Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
