Very insightful. Brian Bell was fantastic. Knowledgeable, funny. Mixed history, architecture, literature and very interesting comments on how Berliners see themselves. Highly recommend. I think I may do another tomorrow! More than worth it!

I cannot thank Phil (our initial guide to the main station) and Brian (our tour guide throughout the day) enough. We had a truly inspiring, memorable experience thanks to Brian in particular, and his immense knowledge and understanding of the history behind the concentration camps was second to none. Brian's vibrant personality and willingness to help with us with anything... More

We did this 4hr tour last week. Our guide was Jared. He was amazingly informative, answered everyone's questions and had a brilliant sense of humour. The tour is itself well worth doing, especially if as in our case, it is your first trip to Berlin. Brilliant thanks Jared .

Both of the guides were very knowledgeable and professional in their approach to the tours. The walking tour was comprehensive and covered the key attractions for tourist with limited time available in Berlin. The tour... More

Fantastic tour with very knowledgable guide, Barnaby. Even though it was a serious topic, he made it entertaining and educational. He even gave me a hat and scarf!

We took a 'Famous walk' tour in Berlin. Met at a central location and were welcomed immediately and paid very reasonable price for tour. Nickolai our tour guide took us to once side where we said what country we were from he introduced himself which was very helpful to break the ice. He then proceeded to bring us on a... More

A walking tour of historical Berlin, with a guide who was so passionate about his subject that he really made history live. He coped with a group of 40 people, even remembering where we all came from after one introduction. His knowledge was beyond superb, and his enthusiasm filtered into his delivery. Brian Bell was his name, and we cannot... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
