Treptover park is really nice. You can go promenade, sit by the lake and have a beer or you can go check out the Russion monument over fallen soldiers. That is really like entering into this communist monumental huge memorialpark. It just takes you back...More

If you are visiting the East Side Gallery, or close to the Ostkreutz station, take the time to visit the Treptower Park and the Soviet Memorial. This is the largest war memorial of Berlin, built by Stalin after the war is a testimony of the...More

Definitely a must see in Berlin... maybe one of the first things to see.....easy to find and lovely park setting close to the river...the scale is breathtaking and the imagery is high Soviet symbolism. The centre piece is dramatically impressive...the histories behind the memorial are...More

As with Soviet memorials, they are not subtle, the Soviet 'warrior' atop the memorial, sword in hand slicing through the swastika leaving no doubt as to the events. Wall tiles display the soviet advance onto Berlin and these are at the pathway leading to the...More

A little out of the centre but worth a short trip. It's set in a beautiful park, which is great for a nice walk and could suit a picnic in the summer, but the most impressive part of this is the landscaping and massive Soviet...More

Treptower Park is a real gem of Berlin. There is a story that all monuments are built from the remains of bunker of the Nazi leader. Park is really nice even though it does not have any chairs to sit. Monuments show a story of...More

The Park is out of the way and a bit hard to get to, and the memorial itself is quite deep within the park but it's a nice quiet sombre experience and a must-see for anyone interested in 20th century history or anything Soviet related.
