We went here by accident when looking for an old guard tower. It is really impressive!!! A giant statue of a soldier holding a baby and crushing a swastika. It is a bit of a walk to get there, so plan some time. Stroll along the water and then cut across the park. Do some research about how the granite... More

I first visited this place in July 1974 as a US soldier and it was a site to see. That Soviet soldier statue is dominant in height. It is surrounded with memorial walls in memory of those that sacraficed their lives during the second world war. Take a bus tour to reach this location with a tour guide.

By far the best Soviet memorial in Berlin . Situated well into Treptower Park one has to take train to this station and then walk about 20 minutes to reach the war memorial located on opposite side of the road . Before the central imposing statue of the soldier up by walking several steps one comes across on both sides... More

Wonderful area with fresh air, old trees and a few monuments to watch....In winter and summer a great place to breath through and let your kids and pets run around... play in the little forest and watch birds and ducks....

Not really worth a separate visit, but if you're nearby you can have a look at it. It's a park built by Stalin after WWII, where "DDR thanks Russia" for "liberating" Germany from one dictatorship to the next. Interesting to see. Big park with one big statue.

I'm not sure if "park" really captures the essence of this place: it's one of the most overwhelming, unsettling, and alien places I've ever been to. It is far from the city centre, but so, so worth the visit. This is Soviet monument making at its most awe-inspiring; it takes the visitor through a series of carved tableaus extolling communist... I visited this park on a warm summers evening, its really beautiful, and runs parallel to the river. A perfect place to hang out with friends, drink a beer, listen to some tunes and throw a disc around. The soviet Union war memorials are very interesting and are quite iconic within the gardens.
