This is a really great place to get your weekly grocery shopping - wether it is veggies, flowers, cheese or bread, you will get it there - fresh and at excellent prices. The combination with some food places and local manufacturers of candles, T-shirts, etc and the busy yet relaxed atmosphere make this market a great place to visit and... More

It's a great outing for an hour, whether or not you need anything. With a good eye and some luck, you can find some nice original art work, some old camera for your collection, cool antiques from a bakery, new postcards or original little cloth bags. The new and old books are worth mentioning, that incl academic and art books... More

It is nothing special to be honest but is quite nice for a Sunday. The flea market has some interesting things, from books (1 euro each), to cheap furniture (antique and modern). Around there are a lot of different cuisines you can try.

I love the market at Boxhagener Platz. There are lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, bright blooms, homemade food from many ethnic backgrounds, and other random items! Don't skip Oma's Rollender Backofen, their little donut holes are so delicious. Mostly locals shop here. There are also lots of interesting shops in the surrounding streets. Definitely worth a visit!

What makes this flea market stand out is the fact that there were musicians in the corners of the market. One was a hip hop freestyler and the other one an old lady playing a string instrument. The items sold at the flea market can be found at any other flea market all over Berlin

If you want to live deeply a Sunday in Berlin, visit a flea market. The one in Boxhagener Platz (Friedrichshain) is one of the most famous. Not huge, but with a warm atmosphere. You can find many original souvenirs coming directly from the GDR's time or handcrafters manufactures. Many bars, restaurants and cafeterias around the square offer rich brunches. Children... More

Thanks Tripadvisor! SATURDAY neighborhood MARKET is my favourite, not too big, beautiful people, ... We had our GLUTEN FREE Breakfast in the "Geremia tiramisù" stall: Italian style with German perfection. We spent the whole morning shopping gifts for friends. It's worth a taste!

This is a small neighbourhood flea market in Friedrichshain around Boxhagener square. It starts much later than other flea markets, people start setting up around 10am and it's well visited by locals and not overrun by tourists yet which means you pay much lower prices than at the Mauerpark one and you get to mingle with locals. The playground and... More

Boxhagener markt is a great mix of fleamarketeers, artists and craftspeople. . Parking is virtually nil, so plan to take public transport. There is an s-Bahn line one block north and the SamariterStrasse U- Bahn line three blocks farther north on FrankfurterAllee. An early start is advisable in October as daylight ends early. We considered it a wonderful find and... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
