It is a wonderful lake, with planty of space to walk around and to stop, seat and take a dive. You can go alone, or with your family. If it is a hot summer day, it is perfect to go there, put your towel on the ground, and enjoy the lake. If you like, you can rent a boat and... More

Great place to take a day trip if you are looking to get out of the city and see some green. S-bahn drops you off about 15 minute walk from the "beach" areas which are really grassy knolls leading up to the lake. Bring a picnic and some friends.

It's usually packed with teenagers, as it is easily accessible by Subway, and free. Many little access points to the water and a few beaches. Water is very clean. No dogs allowed.

My parents and I did the approximately 7km walk all the way around the water, then sat down for beer and Gulasch soup. Beautiful, calm walk outside of the big city.

I love this lake. Quite, beautiful view and a nice bar to the taste a beer. Maybe in summer it is also good to swim.

A nice relaxing stroll around the edge of a lake is always a nice tonic. The Schlachtensee wasn't as spectacular as I'd hoped (maybe spoiled previously by living on the Starnberger See) but it made for a perfectly pleasant excursion.

The title sumd it up. Not spectacular, too crowded, but still... a lake in the forest next to a large city comes with its pros and cons. Horrible service at the restaurant at the northern tip of the lake, though.

This lake on the outskirts of Berlin can be reached on The S7 S-bahn railway. Its within the AB region. The lake is 2 minutes walk from the train station. There is a snack place at the station if you haven't brought a picnic. Trees run right down to the waterside all the way round the lake, there's not a... More

A beautiful lake in a charming area. One of the best places to go on a sunny day in Berlin. Very easy to get there by S-BAHN
