Neighbourhood: Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.

Fantastic bridge, unlike anything in the UK, well worth a visit. It is at the end of the East Side Gallery, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone.

This was a lovely historic bridge across the river right next to the East Side Gallery. Definitely worth a visit to see.

Some nice architecture on the bridge, but ruined by the graffiti and stench of urine as you walk on it. Good view from the bridge along the river however.

Walked across the bridge. Average architecture, and not a great neighbourhood. Photos look nicer than it is.

This is a beautiful-looking bridge, connecting the east side of Berlin to its west side.
It provides some lovely photo-ops of the East Side Gallery on the Wall.

The impressive Oberbaumbrücke is worth a shot or two, if you are in the area. If not, you don’t miss too much. It’s only a bridge, for pete’s sake.

What can you say? It's sooooo German. It's what people think of when they think of German architecture. Sadly, Berlin really is not the city to go looking for lots of that for all the historical reasons. This bridge though is a gem. I had the luxury of staying in the boat hotel nearby, having a cabin which window fronted the river and the bridge. Waking up every morning to the river sounds and the bridge was incredible. I love that bridge.

Probably the most beautiful bridge in Berlin. U-bahn station near each end so easy to get to and next to the start/end of the Eastside Gallery (depending on which direction you walk it). Possibly not worth a special visit on its own (unless you love bridges) but if you’re in the area it’s definitely worth seeing

Its probably the best looking bridge in Berlin and worth a walk across. The best views of it are probably from the East bank of the river, accessible through the gates in front of the Universal Music building to one side. As for the bridge itself, due to the number of homeless people who have taken up residence on it, its not the most comfortable walk across - you are unlikely to get any hassle but there is lots of broken glass and the viewing points on the way across clearly see so much use as a toilet, there really isn't any way you want to spend much time, if any taking in the view from it.

Nice bridge to behold from a distance, nice views over the Spree when crossing on foot, the walkway runs along the doorways to the bridge towers, the porticos of which are occupied by homeless people, decked out with scarfed chairs and even a full sized settee, no idea how they managed to get it in there. Anyway, all in all a pleasant stroll with interesting sights.
