It would be difficult to find a better Berlin tour guide than Bernhard. His first hand experiences of growing up in East Berlin and the fall of the Berlin Wall were captivating. He also has a very detailed knowledge of German history and was able to answer any questions we had about Berlin and Germany. I booked a Berlin city... More

We had 4.5 hours tour with Bernhard. Very knowledgeable, intuitive, fun to be around person. I especially appreciate his deep knowledge and great interpersonal skills after taking a tour with another tour company, which was a joke and a waste of time. Knowledgeable, well prepared, showing many photographs (he is like walking archive), I wish every tour guide would take... More

Bernhard. Such an intelligent, kind young man; and a Rick Steve's recommended Guide. What a great find! His honest, informative commentary brought the city to life, as well as his own East German life added nuanced perspectives otherwise unavailable to us about family, community and the humanity we share. Finally, Bernhard was extremely flexible to accommodate our schedule in professional,... More

Deeply educated, engaging, caring guide who put a lot of effort into making the tour entertaining and educational for every member of our family, including our school-aged children. Bernhard showed up early, came with a waterproof set of maps and photographs, told lots of fascinating stories, asked us questions to get to know us and to keep us engaged throughout,... More

My husband and I had the honor and pleasure of spending over four hours with Bernhard, who gave us the most wonderful tour of Jewish Berlin imaginable. Bernhardt is a scholar, and expert in history and, specifically Holocaust history as well as post war history. He grew up in East Germany, which added another dimension to his knowledge. Our time... We spent over five invigorating hours with Bernhard on his Berlin at a Glance tour in May 2015 as first time visitors to Berlin. Bernhard gauged our understanding of Berlin's recent history then showed us maps and photos to clarify the timelines of events so it all made sense! Bernhard is passionate about sharing his enthusiasm for history and has... More

Our only regret touring with Bernhard was that we scheduled 2 days but only had 1 day with him due to a family situation. Bernhard is a self-described "history nerd" and his knowledge and passion was amazing. We did a tour of the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. He met us at our hotel and rode the train out. He had a... More

We took a full day walking tour of Berlin with Bernhard. He instantly becomes your friend. He is very knowledgeable and it is evident that he loves the city. He took us to his favorite restaurant for lunch which was lovely. We visited in November 2014 and will definitely look him up when we visit again.

A couple of weeks ago, my family and I had a fantastic private day touring Berlin with Bernhard. His knowledge of the history and current status of the city is amazing and the stories that he told with his first hand experience of the collapse of the Berlin Wall were wonderful to hear. I would highly recommend taking any of... More
