The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

Thought this would be a flea market but it’s actually just a bunch of businesses selling their own products not second hand cheap items which you would expect at something titled “flea market” definitely not worth it considering the amount of people and the sheer nightmare of the travel to and from the location. You won’t be able to get close to the stalls because the amount of people and most of it you could order online anyway

Spent a good 2 hours strolling around the Market. Easy to find. Some great young artisans. Lots of flea market and preloved clothes too. Toilets 50c but very clean! Worth a visit.

Went here on a Sunday and it was amazing! So many stalls with absolutely everything you can think of. The food stalls were so good, food from all around the world from USA, Argentina, India and plenty of others! The beer was pretty cheap at the stalls but there were actually people walking around with ice buckets selling bottles even cheaper. A must visit if you want a chilled afternoon!

The market itself is amazing, lots of small businesses and food stalls.

Unfortunately the large vintage stalls specifically charge triple for anyone who doesn’t speak german. Tried to charge me 45 euro for a placemat. Witnessed a few others experience the same. Made me feel less inclined to spend any money at other stalls.

Visited here in October and found a lot of the stalls disappointing and overpriced.

There are however many decent stalls that are worth visiting and a lot of things that would please shoppers.

The food stalls are varied and the price of water and drinks is very pricey.

I am not the biggest fan of flea markets, so perhaps I am not the target audience. My friend really enjoyed it though! A large myriad of knick-knacks are on sale. My friends and I enjoyed eating in the park after looking at the various things on sale. However, it can get really uncomfortably hot in the summer.

It's a Sunday flea market with all kinds of collectibles, vintage decor items, books, clothes, accessories as also other vendors selling various things that are interesting...
Live music & food stalls enhance the experience...if you have time, it's a good place to visit.

Very old stuff for sale and stuff that was made by people at home, very unique, everyone spoke English and it’s the only good thing to do in Berlin on a Sunday as most things are closed! I go every year to buy things.

As a tourist, I suggest you visit this flea market, especially if you love old goods, handicrafts and atmosphere with very, very different people.

This flea market is exactly what you expect from a flea market. Arts and crafts, paintings, wood work, clothes, food, vinyl records, recycled bags, beautiful jewellery, souvenirs. If you love the vibe of old and new this makes a great Sunday outing. Public transport right alongside the park; taxis easy to find. Queue for some food a bit long, but plenty to drink and eat. About 6 or 7 rows to explore. Our adult children all found something to buy to take home to Australia as a momentous of their time in Berlin.
