This quiet monument commemorates the deportations of Jews from Berlin to the death camps in the most subdued, quiet and respectful way imaginable. It was from here that between 1938 - 1944 thousands were send to their death, sometimes on a daily basis. Take 20...More

This is not a museum, nor an impressive memorial, yet, its quiet simplicity is powerful. A short walk from the Grunewald train station is the site from which trains on a daily basis deported tens of tousands of Jews to death camps. The dates and...More

Very easy to find. Very easy to visit. But will stay with you for a long time......Grünewald S-7 train station, just follow the signs. You can buy flowers to bring, right by the station.

We thought we'd go for 15-20 minutes just to see the site, but ended up spending more than an hour walking around, taking pictures. Eerie experience, and a peaceful get away from Berlin's city chaos. Definitely recommended.

Gleis 17 is not a big iconic memorial like the one in the city center. At the original platform where the trains that deported Jews left, is indicated along the track on what dates trains left and how many Jews were on that train. The...More

Next to the normal train "Gleis", you can find the Gleis 17. You will see pro day, the number of "Juden" which have been sent to the camp.. It is really impressive

A must for every man and woman. A most important memorial. Very powerful. Pay attention to the written information on the railways blocks. 3 other memorials near by. Don't miss them. Best to take a guided tour.

A powerful place to visit...with my guide was 5 stars. However, had we not had a guide I don't think we would have understood much there...so it gets a 3 star rating.

This place was gut wrenching. You stand on the platform on the spot where people were brought to be loaded on to railway cars to be shipped to concentration camps. On the edge of the platform on both sides were plaques stating a particular date,...More

We did not see this on any tourist info, but was recommended by a friend. Outside the nearest station, Grunewald, are stalls selling fruit and vegetables; there is a lovely bakery and opposite, a little bar serving excellent beer. The setting is peaceful and pretty-totally...More
