Worth the entry fee, combine with an aquarium ticket as it exceeded our expectations.
This zoo is massive. Even when busy it did not feel too crowded as it was big. Animals seemed well cared for. I would not recommend visiting first thing as most of the animals were asleep/ not out. We left and returned later in the morning and it was far better. There is a lot of walking so perhaps younger children may need a buggy for when they get tired!

Daughter wanted to visit as we had been some z13yrs before. Although not laid out with a fail proof ‘route’ the zoo is immaculately presented with a good range of Animals. We thoroughly enjoyed the wander through different areas and the giraffes were a highlight. The price was very reasonable and definitely better value than the equivalent in the UK.

Great zoo with fab playground for kids
An amazing zoo!! Great selection of animals and very clean! Great selection of snacks and drinks and cafes. We were particularly impressed with the amazing playground in the middle which the kids had to be coaxed out of after an hour! The best playground we’ve ever been to!

Great zoo to definitely visit again
This zoo is amazing. The exhibits are big and the variety of species is incredible. Some bird exhibits could be a little bit bigger but that’s for future reference. I spent 5 to 6 hours and didn’t even have time for the aquarium, and the tickets were relatively cheap. The animal keepers also work hands on with the animals, that’s something i’m not used to but very interesting to see. So much more to see, i’ll definitely be back!

    They have Pandas 🐼
I’ve been hearing for years that Berlin Zoo is just awesome and I don’t think anyone has ever mentioned it without saying ‘and they have pandas.’ They do! And they are so cute and everything you would expect from a panda. We have a Panda obsessed friend, if you do too you will Love the gift shop. Panda merch in abundance. The zoo feels classic. Like London zoo or the zoo depicted in Lady and the Tramp, you know? Feels quite elegant and like they built it in a different time. Which I guess they did. They have a great selection of animals and they all look pretty well cared for, doesn’t have any kind of mean zoo vibe. There were a lot of wasps - we visited in August so this will not always be a problem but something to note if you’re visiting in August and don’t want to spend all day dodging wasps and hearing your children shriek. Totally annoying… You can buy this ticket jointly with the aquarium ticket. We did, I wouldn’t again, the zoo is fab. The aquarium is absolutely the opposite. A sustainability thing - a €2 deposit if you buy a hot drink. Couldn’t return the cup in the exit shop. Only 2 Euros but little bit cheeky. Would recommend. 🐼

    Panda's
Spent a few hours at the zoo as we landed early an our hotel room was not ready. €20 gets you in to the zoo only €29 aloows you the zoo and aquarium. We decided on the zoo only. We entered through the Chinese panda extrace which had a very welcoming garden to stroll through. Te panda exhibit was great and the three pandas where in good view. The rest of the zoo was well done but it seemed to have alot of construction. Overall a good zoo with plent to see

    Great experience
Berlin Zoo was great. Its easily accessible - right beside an U-Bahn/S-Bahn station. We went on a Monday morning and there were no queues. Plenty of places to sit, lots of drinks/ice cream stalls scattered across the zoo. There are restaurants on site; we didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Most of the signs on the various displays were translated to english.

A must go to if you’re ever in Berlin
A great zoo in the heart of Berlin. Right next to the Zoologischer train station so you won’t be walking far. Cafe’s around the zoo to enjoy a refreshment. There are benches everywhere to sit with the animals. Truly relaxing. Could spend hours here! Reallly enjoy this immersive fun experience!

    One of the best
Spent a fabulous day visiting the animals at the zoo here in Berlin. Would have loved to see a bit more information available in multi-languages. Obviously German was prioritised and some great information and there are fun facts for children available in English too. The animal enclosures appear to be very roomy, especially in comparison to other zoos. Loved that there were so many zoo keepers on staff and that it was possible to see the various food options available for the animals. We had great weather for our mid-week zoo visit which helped us through our ramble, often times we had to remind ourselves that we were still inside a very busy city.

Best Zoo I've ever been to
We visited Berlin Zoo especially to see the pandas. It is the best Zoo I have ever been to. The layout, setting and animal enclosures were excellent. Really well thought out. We were very impressed. It was wonderful to walk amongst the green vegetation, trees and gardens in between the enclosures. Everything looked fresh and well cared for and the enclosures were clean (when they were supposed to be!) All the animals we saw looked exceptionally healthy with variety in their enclosures. The enclosures enables lots of viewing areas. We went to the panda talk but unfortunately for us there was no English translation. The twin pandas were asleep but we had a good view of them. They were not feeding the pandas at the same time. We walked away and returned a bit later when the pandas had been fed. They were more active and fun to watch and most of the people had moved on by then! We got some good close up photographs. We saw 3 of them. A couple of areas were under construction so we couldn’t properly see the brown bears. However, there were loads of different species of animals and mostly a lot of each species so overall plenty to see. We had drinks and a hot meals in the main cafe /log cabin near the play area. We were both impressed with the quality of the meal and generosity of the portions. Overall we had a fantastic day out and thought it was great value for money. I highly recommend a day at the zoo during your time in Berlin. It was easy to get to on public transport.

We visited here during a short trip to Berlin. The zoo is only a 2 min walk from the train station so easy to find.
The zoo is very large with a huge section of animals. The enclosures were all good, I just felt some were a bit bland and the animals could have done with some natural things to play with.
The park was clean with a variety of food and drink options and a huge kids play area which looked great.
We booked last minute which cost a little extra but I still felt that was good value for money. Book a week out to save more!
We didn't bother with the aquarium based on the recent trip advisor reviews and didn't feel we missed out by not doing it.
We took our time and spent around 5 hours there.
There is also a hotel looking over the zoo called 25hr hotel. I looked this up and the rooms looked really nice for a good price. So if we went back I'd stay there, definitely not Alexandraplatz again which felt like I was back in the 90's!

This was a World Class zoo close to the Victory Column in Tiergarten Park (10 minutes walking). The zoo is very easy to get to via public transportation. There was a lot of shopping around the zoo.

Visited on a Tuesday and got there at 10am, it was empty. Was great. Although the main thing we wanted to see were the Pandas, unfortunately they don’t allow access to the Pandas until around 11am but that was fine. We were able to walk around the rest of the park. Although it was raining most the day, we still had a good time. Plenty to see around the zoo, everything is so well laid out and easy to identify.

Definitely one of the best zoos we have ever been to. We came to Berlin from the UK specifically to visit this zoo as we have done most the zoos in England.

There are just two Pandas to see but they’re fascinating. Plenty of seating so you can sit and watch them eat their bamboo.

We booked online on the day so paid 24 Euro each. If you book a week in advance it's only 16 Euro. We arrived before 11.30 and left after 6 as there is so much to see, although we do tend to look at everything. It is a super zoo with almost everything translated into English. Food and drink expensive so bring your own. It was better later in the day as the crowds had gone by about 4pm.

My husband and I were mentally tapped out on history activities. We ended up at the zoo and it ended up being one of my fav memories in Berlin! The zoo is set up in a way that truly immerses you into each exhibit. We felt so close to the animals. The zoos back home (USA) are not set up like this. All of the animals were well taken care of. Do not skip the petting area 🙌🏼

What an amazing place, where you feel so close to the animals that all look relaxed and well looked after. I’ve been to places before that I left concerned about the welfare of the animals but not here. Petting zoo, probably really for kids but it was my absolute highlight feeding the goats. Could spend days in the zoo and really recommend it as a top place to visit in Berlin.

Very well maintained zoo. Staff was friendly and the zoo was very clean. The enclosures are very nice as they do not interfere with the view and makes you feel as if you are closer to the animals. I have been to zoos around the world and this is one of my favorites. Very good zoo!

A wonderful way to spend a day. Very easy to get to with great transport links. The zoo was well laid out with plenty of space and beautiful surroundings. The areas were all themed and the animals seemed well cared for. Plenty of places to get food and drink and lots of areas to sit. The highlight for us was the pandas! Absolutely adorable!

This zoo is very large and you need a good amount of time to go round it.
There is a very large variety of animals and when we visited were pleased that they were all about.
The animals all seemed very well cared for and had space.
Its good value for money compared to our zoos.

Extremely nice zoo - well maintained and seems that animals have good conditions. It is in the center of Berlin but inside the zoo you cannot hear street noise at all. Pandas are super cute and you can see animals really close. Highly recommended place.
