The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

Probably some of the best beer I've experienced. Everything was wonderful. My wife had the Ceaser Salad and I had the roast pork special. The food was incredible band the service was very good. The historic building was beautiful. I would highly recommend if visiting Altstadt Heidelberg.

Good morning time to visit when everything closed due to Corona. Maybe not the best schnitzeles there, but definitely ok with beer and some curry. Good feeling of people around you. Yeah! This is Prenzlau! Waiting for the good sunny weather.

Lucia Weihnachstmarkt (Christmas Market), although heavily advertised, is over-hyped: nothing Nordic-related except for drinks, with limited food choices. Still, it's very crowded. Surrounding area (beyond KulturBrauwrei) has shops and eateries.

I prefer this than the bigger, commercialised markets which are more crowded. This is also crowded, but it tends to be local crowds. You can find good desserts, and most of all good gluhwein here - a bit more festive local shops - definitely go to this one.

This area hosts the annual Lucia Christmas Market amidst the shops, bars and museum located here. We were somewhat disappointed in the market as we took the lengthy and expensive cab ride from Potsdamer Platz to get here. The market is quite small and has nothing special to offer especially very little Swedish content. The surrounding aged but attractive red brick buildings makes up for it somewhat. Wouldn't take the time to do it again.

We where a group of 12 guys and most of the people in the club were a bit older. Nevertheless we made some fun, but the security couldn’t cope with it, we were thrown out because we were making “to much fun”. What kind of stupid club is this? Bye!

went there for Halloween party with friends, they literally did not allow non german in.
I watched the entrance for an hour, they only look at the front of the ID for the age for blond white people, for others they look on the back of the ID, if it says other than german, they do not let them in.
They even let people on the door to refund to people who already bought tickets, so they knew this will happen, so the administration frankly told the door security to act like this.
when German friends in our group told them what they do will affect the club as being racist, their answer meant, "We know, and we don't care"

Our walk through Prenzlauer Berg meandered by this historic brewery. These breweries once made Prenzlauer Berg famous for its beer. It was renovated in the late 90's after reunification and helped make Prenzlauer Berg trendy. We did not go inside but simply enjoyed the building and its architecture in the sun. It simply looked like a great back drop for pictures.

With such a cool building that was a former brewery, I was disappointed in this place. It is a big open space with a few shops, a bike touring company, a few bars, but otherwise a big nothing burger. The museum connected to the building is nice but otherwise a big let down. I was surprised they didn't even have a small craft brewery or beer bar on sight of a former brewery. Heard it is great at Xmas market though.
