Neighbourhood: Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

Located in the wonderful Charlottenburg district of Berlin Theater Des Westerns is one of Berlin's premier theatre's, opened in 1896 ,the theatre looks awesome with a beautiful ornately stone carved facade,go of a night when illuminated and this theatre looks superb .
I've been to a few shows here in the past but on our most resent holiday to Berlin we couldn't attend as we had too much to do but I would have loved to see the Ghost production being touted all around Berlin and receiving great reviews.
No matter ,it's still a beautiful theatre and one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.
Well worth checking out.

wonderful retelling of the movie "Ghost" ... amazing how the sets could be changed and set to convey all the different locations. Charming old theatre ... avoid get the seats on the side of the theatre ... part of the stage is likely to be blocked, and you will not be able to see the entire show. I had looked online at what seats were available for the performance I wanted... but sadly by the time I got to the theatre to buy the ticket, the three seats (pre-selected a couple of options) had been sold. The ticket agent suggested a seat in the loge ... would have been great if it was a concert... close to the stage, but lousy for the play. So life goes though... still had a good time.

We saw the show in NJ and were so excited to see that it would be in Berlin while we were there! Awesome! It doesn't matter that you don't speak German, because the music and story move you to tears anyway! I had difficulty understanding some of the seating chart until I saw the theater. This is a beautiful historic theater, so I wouldn't want to sit on the sides as I felt you'd be leaning over to see (which was designed like that long ago). We sat about 11 rows back (almost dead middle), and it was perfect. There is no middle aisle, so the seats on the ends are near the walls. The balcony is pretty low and starts about 15 rows back, so they would give a good view, I think. The snack and souvenir areas only take cash, so be prepared! This was stunning.

Blown away by this spectacular version of the tale. Performed entirely in German, we as non-German speakers could easily follow the plot. A lovely girl at the gift shop very kindly offered me a written synopsis of the show in English. I was really grateful for this.

We were blown away by the singing- such dramatic, powerful performances! Especially from the actors who played Quasimodo & Frollo. The music was enchanting. Inspired us to listen to the soundtrack - in English.

However, be warned. This version is much darker than the original Disney movie (the cartoon) where they lived happily ever after in the end - except the villain of course. They have altered the plot in this musical version. Without spoiling the story, the ending is different. So may not be suitable for younger children.

Really pleased we made the effort to see it. A truly entertaining evening. We can see why the original Berlin version was the longest running musical in Berlin history.

We bought the tickets at the theatre on the day of the show and the woman in the box office was extremely helpful throughout the process and our seats (Box 5 on the right, seats 1 and 2) were great!
It's a beautiful theatre with many chandeliers, some stained glass and included contemporary modern art pieces in the decor. The whole place was stunning!
Although it was performed in German and we don't speak the language well enough, the fact that there were no English subtitles didn't matter to us. The passionate performance from the entire cast carried us through the emotions of the story and the language barrier didn't matter in the end. They received a well deserved standing ovation which lasted 5 minutes and rounded off a wonderful evening.

Went to see the musical Sister Act at this location. The theater is nicely build, lightly renovated and perfectly suited for musicals. Restrooms are modern and clean. Refreshment during the break were served in numerous places, although still causing some minor queues.

Ive been to a couple of shows here and all of them were amazingly professional and fun to experience. The last show ive seen was "sister act" , which I highly recommend to everyone, who likes good music and loves to laugh!

The venue itself is easy to find and absolutely astonishing from the outside and inside.. My favourite theater venue in germany. Entering the theater will make you feel royal! 😏

I'm sure this theatre isn't as old as it looks in terms of decoration but it is a beautiful, classic looking building inside. Gives you that feeling of decadence. Dress up to make it even more a special experience.
