The Wannsee is a beautiful part of Berlin and you can understand how it became such a sought after area to reside by the affluent and well heeled. Indeed, before being surreptitiously purchased by the RSHA, the villa at 56-58 Greater Wannsee was the property...More

As others have explained an AB ticket and 40-60 minutes on the S1 line will get you from the centre of Berlin to Wannsee. This lovely town on the edge of two lakes is only a short distance closer to the Capital from Potsdam but...More

Apart from the visit giving a chance to see outside of central Berlin, it is a remarkable historic monument. Events and personalities involved around the 'final solution' are well documented, and well displayed. Congratulations to the organisers.

I visited the Wannsee Conference House (Haus der Wannsee-Konferenz) in September 2018. I walked to the house from the S-Bahn station which took at least 30 minutes. I took bus 614 back to the S-Bahn station after I was finished. Outside the house is a...More

I wished I had thought to ask the bus driver where the museum was, from the bus stop. As this is a residential area, the Haus is not marked with a sign that stands out. I used the audio guide and also read most of...More

I read about this place in a book about the SS, but to come here and listen to the guide, was absolutely amazing. Situated beside a lake, this must have been a very impressive place. Well worth the visit for the second world war scholar.

What a strange irony...such a beautiful area, Wannsee, with such a sad place of remembrance of the planning for the Final Solution. The property is so well preserved and should be. The exhibit of the house and grounds for the Wannsee Conference of the Third...More

Holocaust Tourism that fills me with ambivalence but I never regret doing it so long as one is as little touristy as one can be. Going here is worth it for the sheer contrast of the tony and delightful villa filled lake resort, with its...More

The curators of this exhibition has managed to balance succesfully between thorough documentation of the 90 minute conference in January 1942 and its tragic consequences, while not loosing sight of and anchoring the empathy with the millions of victims of this 'business meeting'. Horrible but...More

The villa and its surroundings are impressive with the picturesque view. The neo-classical Italian inspired building is a lavish looking, handsome one, yet, lacking character. The permanent exhibition is to be altered in a couple of years. It is quite informative as it is. A...More
