Visited Germany with family and mum wanted to do some sightseeing from the water. We took two trips, a 3 hour Berlin tour and a Havel and Lakes tour from Wannsee. Both were brilliant, very knowledgable "guides", well equipped boats with bars and snacks and...More

I'm in Berlin for a few weeks and have visitors every weekend so thought that this would be a good way of spending a Sunday. This is my second time in three weeks doing this tour, the first time was great-this time not so great,...More

Four hours form Tegel to Potsdam. You get an uncommon view form the water. A nice experience of a relaxed sightseeing tour. For the way back to Berlin we took the train. Best at a sunny day, but good even in the rain.

We have taken the 3.5 bridges of berlin tour. The route is very nice and you get to see a lot of Berlin but if you are not fluent in German then I suggest you skip this one. There was one dry description in English...More

Love this tour. It is so nice to see the reconstruction of Berlin from the river Spree. The audio guides are available in multiple languages and one can sit above in the weather or below in comfort. An hour well spent.

We took the one hour trip from Friedricstrasse. It goes up the river, to past the Reichstag, back down, past the boarding stage and beyond to the watergate just past Museum island and then back to the start. A smaller boat than many that you...More

The easiest and most relaxing way to enjoy Berlin's highlights. There are 2 types of cruise: The short one lasting one hour and the long one lasting 3 hours, approximately. We have been to the 2nd one. There are various departure points and some locks...More

Boarded the 4hr cruise at Jannowitzbrucken at 10am on a bank holiday and had the boat almost to ourselves until near the end when a large crowd boarded at Friedrichstrasse. Wonderful guide who alternated between German and English & told us loads of interesting facts...More

We took the 3 1/2 hour bridge tour yesterday. Though the boat is warm and toasty and offers wonderful views, the tour is not worth it if you want to hear the tour in English. For every one minute of narrative in German, there were...More

We did the 31/2 hour tour which after walking so much was very welcome. The boat was comfortable with a pleasant crew. The commentator was a very nice guy who gave us lots of information in German and English. When it was quiet he gave...More

We got on it south of Unter den Linden near the Dom. Just walk down the walkway to the river and their ticket office is there with schedule and boat.

Is it necessary to book a cruise before hand, or can one just pay for it at one of the ticket centers by museum island?

You do not have to book a cruise in advance. I walked up to the ticket booth at the landing and paid just before boarding.
