We had a great time at this market, there was great quality fruit and veg all ridiculously cheap and plenty of things to snack on along the way. Much bigger than I expected and plenty of people but this made for a great atmosphere. I also recommend picking up some of the tea sold near the entrance which smell beautiful... More

I intentionally went to the market with an empty belly because I knew the food would be amazing. I ate something from almost every hot food stall and couldn't decide which I liked best! I also got a Turkish coffee and fresh pomegranate and orange juice which were great. Picked up a fabulous necklace and unique earrings and enjoyed the... More

A nice setting with trees for shade and next to a canal that has boat tours. Good food lots of textiles. Some repetition and quite crowded midday, I think most people will enjoy it. Walking distance from train.

Two very crowded streets with lots of vendors selling food (fresh fruits, vegetables, meats- a few stands sell already made foods to eat there), jewelry, and various other items- I bought a backpack (It's very good quality, love it) and two beautiful bracelets. The prices range from like 2 euros to fairly expensive. You can barter some, depending on the... More

Was a great little place to stumble upon but really nothing to write home about. If you like the bargains of a flea market then this is the place for you. Sell things from tools to sewing goods to food etc. Nothing that you wont find in any local flea market, but like I said was a great way to... More

The market takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays, many special things to eat and buy there (mainly vegetables and fruits, but also crafts, jewelry and other food). Many stalls sell ready hot food, ranging from African to Turkish, and everything is very cheap. The atmosphere is amazing, surely worth a visit.

Not the easiest location to get to using public transportation, but well worth the effort. Lots of vendors selling a wide variety of products -- fabric, prepared Turkish food, quark parfaits, sugar cane beverage -- as well as fresh produce. And it is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:00 AM until 6:30 PM.

I had heard about this market being good for a bargain and I finally decided to visit. There really are good deals on fruit and veg; far cheaper than any supermarket! Also lots of other types of stalls including hot food, cheese, meat and fish and fabrics to mention a few. The atmosphere is great. Stall holders are loud and... More

Staying in Neukolln

Neighbourhood Profile
Neukolln
No Berlin neighbourhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as “Little Istanbul“. Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.
