Tierpark Berlin-Friedrichsfelde is open 365 days a year to its visitors from near and far - also on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Covering 160 hectares this landscape zoo has yet to meet its match. Here await you spacious open-air enclosures for herds of hoofed animals, great expanses of water for waterfowl and flamingos, and impressive animal houses (Alfred-Brehm-Haus for big cats and tropical birds; the pachyderm house for elephants, rhinoceroses, and sea cows; the hummingbird and crocodile house; and the house for African primates). A visit to the snake farm presents you with one of Europe's greatest collections of venomous snakes in the one display terrarium. New additions to our facilities now cater to Asian and European mountain animals and Japanese macaques.

Gorgeous, spacious park, the lack of bars and space allowed for everything was a huge bonus it was lovely and quiet and all the animals were out playing due to the lack of crowds, we stopped to have a beer and at a lovely cafe in the centre of the park and watched the animals peacefully walking by. A truly... More

This zoo was great so much to see and do lots of kids attractions. Saw animals I had never seen before I.e the venomous snakes Thought the zoo was well laid out but more signs are needed. The shop didn't have many animal based souvenirs. Most of the enclosures were very well done quite natural. The vultures enclosure was amazing... More

(Visited in May 2015). It's called a park for reason and not a zoo. Compared to other zoos I've been to, the animals have a lot more open space and they look generally well taken care of. Great for a sunny/cloudy day but not so much for rain. Tip: Usually best to go in the afternoon as most of the... More

I'd visited the Tierpark before but today's visit was much better than the previous one. The enclosures are large, clean and open allowing plenty of space for the occupants, and good viewing opportunities for visitors. The animals are in superb condition. I really wanted to see Pallas Cats (Manuls) which are rare in zoos and I had heard that they... More

I feel so Sorry for most of these animals. Maybe some of them have an okay life but it's morally wrong and I don't think they belong is those small cages and gardens. I don't recommend this place.

This is a good day out for families and children, however we felt that a lot of the enclosures were bare and inadequate for the animals. We attended on Saturay 4th March 2016 with my daughter and two grandchildren aged 5 and 2. The children had a lovely time and were obviously unaware of the conditions that some of the... More

This is where the ZOO-animals go when they need a holiday or a medical break. The place is much more open space than the ZOO so the name PARK is well chosen (my advice is to take comfy shoes). When I was here twice, there were very few people so I was impressed. But note: it's quite a drive down... More

If you are deciding whether to visit the zoo at Zoologischer Garten or this during winter, definitely choose this! Tierpark requires quite a bit of walking to get around the entire zoo as the animal enclosures are much larger compared to the Zoologischer Garten Zoo. Despite the cold weather, majority of the animals are still out and about so you... More

Visited to see if we could get a chance of a peek at the new polar bear....knew it was a long shot but got to see his dad enjoying a play in the freezing water while collecting his snack....the park is very widespread and you do need to use the maps and signposts to ensure you dont miss anything. Was... More

Though it is located in eastern Berlin, you can get there by means of U-Bahn, S-Bahn and bus. It is very extensive, so make sure you have a day time to visit the whole zoo. Finding cafes is not so easy inside Tierpark. It is better to have some snacks and drinks to avoid starving!
