The Cathedral of St. Hedwig was built for the Prussian Catholics in Berlin. It was destroyed during the Battle of Berlin and the outside restored after the war. The interior contains relics of the original building set in a very modern sanctuary. Do not miss...More

It is ironic that the Protestant Cathedral in Berlin is characterised by flamboyance and the Catholic Cathedral by complete simplicity. I don’t mean to be frivolous: but the war did some favours to religious architecture. The reconstructed St Hedwig’s is beautiful in its plainness. A...More

Sunday services: 8, 10, 12 and 18h Just by being a (Catholic) cathedral, it would be worth a visit. Unlike most interesting things in Berlin, it's free! Even the daily organ concerts. It's location, at the corner of an interesting square (dare we hope the...More

This small Cathedral Catholic church with its copper dome, suffered in the war, but has been carefully restored. It is circular with the altar in the centre, and a sunken blessed sacrament chapel, and on the outer various chapels. The remains of St. Otto are...More

My husband and I stumbled across this cathedral by accident and we are so glad we did! It is beautiful inside. Very quiet and peaceful. The ceiling design is simple but also very dramatic and effective. The organ was absolutely stunning. It is free to...More

Roman Catholic Cathedral located on the Bebelplatz. It is the seat of the archbishop of Berlin. Nice simple interior including an impressive Organ. Hoarding obscures a lot of the exterior views of the church.

We visited St Hedwig's to listen the regular Wednesday afternoon (3:30) organ recital. A large and impressive cathedral, there was ample room for seating, and the organ playing was magnificent. The organ itself is an imposing feature of the cathedral and has a majestic and...More

Saint Hedwigs was the first catholic church built in Prussia after the Protestant Reformation. Modeled after the Pantheon in Rome, construction started in 1747 and was completed in 1773. We spent some time sitting on its pews around noon time and enjoyed these very peaceful,...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum

city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
