The street is a solid row of cafes and constant car traffic. Not quaint at all. There are trees so some shade can be found. Friedrichshain is way hipper.

It's a long street across several blocks with lots of street-side bars, cafes, food places and occasional small shops. Full of folks on weekends, mostly drinking and watching people passing by. We tried most of the shops and could not find anything worth buying. So...More

One of the hippest areas of Berlin. A good choice for a weekend day out, especially if you combine it with the Victoria Park which is located within walking distance. The choices in food are great. There is a variety of street food, cafes and...More

Nice street but besides the foodmarket there's not really much to do or to see. The foodmarket is cosy and it's definately worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

Cool and hip area to stroll around. It is very popular with locals and tourists with lots of coffee shops and bars. Great to just sit down and watch people and hipsters passing by. You will also find a few cute shops there.

Take the U-Bahn to Mehringdamm then go east on Bergmanstrasse for a little shopping. The junk shops that used to be here have mostly disappeared, but did meet some Syrian immigrants keeping the trade alive with some bargains. If you know what you're buying, you...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can
both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central
neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the
1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around
Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s,
rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a
carefree life here. An old hospital even became a
hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
