Berlin from below...

Descend with us! Experience the history of Berlin from an unconventional perspective! Since 1999, the Berlin Underworlds Association has been offering regular tours into some of the most important underground structures in the city. Although the majority of our tours are in or near Gesundbrunnen station in the north of Berlin, we also offer tours in several other subterranean complexes that are otherwise not publicly accessible.

We did the Tour 1 of the underground bunker. Our tour guide (a very sweet lady) was good. Sadly I can't recall her name but she was from Denmark. The tour is a must visit if you have time for it. And it just takes some time less than 2 hrs for this. Very informative and thought provoking, I must... More

Took the Dark Worlds tour at 1100 on Saturday. Cost just €9 which is a real bargain (cash only though). An informative and enthusiastic (Italian) guide took us through a WW2 air raid shelter. I learnt a lot and the 90 minutes flew by. Other tours are on offer, and when I return to Berlin I will try the others.

I had Ivanka who was danish and let me just tell you.. she was AMAZING. I couldn't even believe 90 minutes had gone by because I was so encaptured by her presentation. She has a deep respect for the history and I was moved by the way she spoke about it. Pick her brain because she definitely knows her stuff!!... More

Really interesting experience hearing the personal stories of the brave men who helped people escape under the Berlin Wall. The guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it. You need to buy tickets in the morning, the English speaking tour is at 3.30pm, lasts 2 hours. It includes a few steps up and down and obviously enclosed... More

If you are planing to go to berlin its a must see! Its very long and dark pathway under berlin which was built and used during 2ww, you will be so fascinated of how they build such a pathway in a short time, and the tour guids explanations are also very interesting

Had 90 minutes of one of the shelters dating back to WWII - our guide, a young Italian walked us through the history of the bunker/shelter and we got a very good insight to how it was to be there throughout a bombardment; the sound from the nearby u-bahn provided evidence to the sounds there must have been back in... The list of tours to choose from was hard, as I wanted to do them all, but time only permitted me to do one. I am sure the other tours would have been just as interesting as the one I went on though. Our tour guide was very informative and entertaining whilst discussing the dark subject of bomb shelter survival.... More

This is really something to see. We can "feel" the atmosphere of those dark past time. Our guide (I chose the French 1hour tour) was excellent and willing to give us the most of those moments when these "under world" were inhabited. The price for the time of visit is very correct. And don't forget to take good shoes and... More

We did the bunker tour today and loved it. Learnt so much about what it would have been like for Berlin residents when the city was being bombed. I was concerned about feeling claustrophobic going underground - but each room we visited was open and not stuffy (despite being small) and tour group numbers were limited so it was not... More

This was the best and most interesting tour of the trip. We had a fantastic guide - a lovely young Italian girl who started off apologising for her English stating it was not her native tongue - cue a full 90 minute tour in absolute perfect English. No photos allowed as the property itself still belongs to the transport companies... More
