Berlin from below...

Descend with us! Experience the history of Berlin from an unconventional perspective! Since 1999, the Berlin Underworlds Association has been offering regular tours into some of the most important underground structures in the city. Although the majority of our tours are in or near Gesundbrunnen station in the north of Berlin, we also offer tours in several other subterranean complexes that are otherwise not publicly accessible.

I went on the Dark World tour with Sara as our guide. First of all, she did an amazing job! She knew a lot about the bunkers and German history, and was pleasant to listen to. I would recommend the tour itself as well, because I found it a unique way to discover and experience Berlin.

We did the dar world tour which left an impression! The german guide was very nice, funny but also very knowledgeable. We would have loved to take another tour but not all tours are available in the winter. Definitely a great experience to get an impression of the horrors and the life of the Berliners during the war who also... More

The bunker is kept as it was during the war with a lot of items and information that will give you the impression that you live this experience in reality... The people giving this 90 minutes tour are very professional and I am sure that this is the best thing to visit if you are looking for experiencing WW2 situation!

Me and my boyfriend (Berliner) took the dark world tour with Jannes early december and it was simply great. The guide was very knowledgeable, communicative and willing to answer my questions. I did enjoy the guide's narrative and big bravo to his guiding skills. he knew how to manage with a group (and I do pay attention how others guides... More

If you like history and especially the WW2, then this is the place. The guide are knowledgeable and kind and the tour is for all ages, as long as you can cope with a few steps. A funny little detail is that when the metro drives under u you get the feeling of how the noise from the bombers must... More

We decided to book with Berliner Unterwelten after we saw a leaflet in a tourist information building and it didn't disappoint. There are a number of tours on offer covering different topics on what lies beneath Berlin. We booked onto the Cold War and nuclear bunker tour. Tickets for the tours were €11 but discounted to €9 for students. Tickets... More

(This is a long review.) We did the Dark Worlds and the Under the Wall tours. We also toured the Germania exhibit. Dark worlds was excellent, I could almost taste the fear that the civilians must have felt, and what it must have been like to race to the shelter and then sit for an hour while the bombs exploded... This was a perfect tour to do on a wet and cold day! We did the Dark Worlds tour. Our tour guide Anya was engaging, enthusiastic and knew everything she needed to know to provide a very insightful and interesting tour. Even if you don't know about the history of Germany and the wars, this tour is still very interesting... More

Perfect rainy/cold day activity! We only heard about Berliner Unterwelten after talking to a local friend, I would recommend it to most people (probably not children). Our guide Tonny was very knowledgeable and excellent in creating a intriguing atmosphere, it is certainly a very insightful 1.5 hours. You can only get tickets on the day of the tour, directly from... More

We went on the Dark Worlds (Tour 1) tour of a WWII air raid shelter. Our Danish guide (sadly don't remember her name!) did a wonderful job of conveying what people who used these shelters would have thought, felt, and acted like, both in the shelter and outside. Her storytelling was funny, gripping, and of course very informative. I had... More
