This park is in the centre of Berlin and has many different memorials for the different communities that were persecuted during the war. It is located centrally so if you are planning to see other tourist sights, most of these sights are in walking distance of the gardens.

We had a big of a walk around here on the way to the zoo but although beautiful we noticed a few odd things. For example, a statue with a male lion stood over a lioness who's been killed by an arrow with a cub. We were baffled, still are! There's no information on these odd little monuments but other... We spent there most of the day: ate breakfast, walked along the green lawns, met a young female pig taking a walk with her 2 daddies, visited the exhibition in academy for art, made spord contest in long jump, drank tea in teehaus... lovely day

After our excursion to the Berlin Zoo I asked my daughters if we should stroll through the " Animal garden" . Yes , the Tiergarten just around the corner! I remember my grandmother showing pictures of a wasteland bar of any vegetation after the war. We looked all the way down to the Victory Column, Siegessäule, to see a luscious... More

I spent a lot of time walking through this very popular park, and found it very relaxing. Quite a number of people on bicycles, so be aware of them when you are walking to prevent a collisions.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
