Loved the huge 'stones' from various countries. Near to Brandenburg Gate. Variety of gardens, with lots of walking / running areas. And statues that had been 'housed' during the war and rebuilt.

If you need to take some time out of the bustle of the city, I'd recommend walking around the Tiergarten. There are speared for walking, playing and eating & drinking.

Walked through the garden, wooded areas and grass, more a park than gardens I would say. Nice to get out of the hustle and bustle and the heat of the city (it was 28C in May). Walked to the Victoria statue from the Brandenburg gate, via the Russian War memorial, all worth visiting

The Tiergarten is big, and very peaceful. Walking around there is the memorial to the Sinti and Romas who died in the Holocaust. It is a nice place to walk and come across all it has to offer.

It was hot and sunny and our last day of 3 in Berlin so we chose to walk here. It is a very big area of woodland, grass and water. Very tranquil in places. A good place to recharge your batteries

This must be the biggest and most beautiful park i've ever seen. Totally worth taking a walk in there when visiting Berlin

We spend a whole evening in this park. It was so huge with some wild animals. We rented a boat for an hour. That was relaxing and so peaceful. Next to the lake, there are couple of cafes. So, you can order drinks or food and enjoy them near the lake. The garden is located in the center behind the... More

You wouldn't realise that you were in a city when wandering in this park. It is huge and we only saw a small part. It is surprising to know that all the trees were chopped down for fuel after the war-you would never guess now.

Huge park in the heart of Berlin with plenty of walking trails and places to sunbathe. Just a heads up when taking some of the smaller trails be prepared to see anything as Berlin has a very uninhibited culture.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
