This gallery takes the visitor back to the moment of the past. Amazingly artistic, liberal, full of diversity gallery.

By going through this remaining part of the iconic Berlin Wall, it is incredible to admire all the different artistic expressions in it. The symbol of division is now a wonderful place to give an homage to unity and a constant memorial that the walls will eventually fall.

Good stretch of the wall but not original art work. The wall is Very much used to become a art gallery which is not what I expected. But it's free and only a short train ride away We went to the wall museum which was good. Don't forget to use berlin card. We did!

I liked it, but not a lot. It was a dull windy rainy day. We spent some time walking to get here. It's good to see but it doesn't have a wow factor.

This was the highlight of our trip to Berlin, we loved it!! Colourful, moving, inspiring, and shocking all spring to mind!!! a large section of the wall has been left intact and used as a huge graffitti art gallery!! It gives you a real feel of how it would have felt with the wall there, and a lot of the... More

I came at this from Warschauer Strasse heading towards Ostbahnhof. The 'paintings' vastly improved as I went on. Maybe this was a question of personal taste or maybe the placement of them is designed to make you feel a certain way, I don't know. I saw this in the early evening and it was really impressive, perhaps even more so... More

Luckily for Germany the "wall" had come down by the time I visited but this museum is well worth a visit. Anyone with a sense of history will find East Side Gallery interesting and fascinating.

Spent an hour easy, walking along and looking at the art work. Well lit street so it didn't matter that it was at night, we went around 8pm. It's a shame they have to put up fencing to stop people drawing graffiti over the artwork. I think it's great they've used this piece of history as a platform for artists.

We arrived at his historic site. A large section of the Berlin Wall, wow what site. I recommend this site if you are in Berlin.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
