A really beautiful palace! Don't miss it in you're weekend in Berlin. It's a MUST to go and see a concert or musical here. So fancy and very good seats. We saw The Grand Show - really magical. It's my favourite show so far. You're gonna LOVE it if you love musicals, music, dance, fashion, gymnastic etc etc. It's pure... More

Though I couldn't understand anything as it was in German but enjoyed the performance and intensity of the show. As it was my first ever presence in theater.Worth watching.

A good entertainment, combining music, dance and classic circus acrobatics. For a visitor to Berlin then this a evening well spent. The facilities are very good. To be able to order food to be delivered during intermission is welcomed addition.

Following the reviews I was expecting "The One" to be the next grand thing... was I disappointed. The costumes were magnificent, but it's supposed to be a show, not a catwalk, right? There was no plot, just unconnected episodes. And I have to comment the vocalists, mediocre. But most of the audience seemed really blown away with the show so... More

Thank you for your review. We do of course strive to ensure that every single guest leaves the Palast utterly enthralled. Indeed, for the vast majority of people, we succeed in this. With half a million very different guests every year, 95 per cent are positive, 5 per cent like you are not. In cultural circles (where opinions tend to... More

I attended a performance of The One Grand Show last Saturday at this wonderful theater. Very classy inside and out. A wonderful space with a grand staircase and ample lounge areas. A (semi) dressy crowd and an excellent night out while in Berlin. Especially for the musical/performance fans.

This is a song and dance show - everything is in German but the spectacle is still worthwhile if you do not understand German. The theatre lights up in the evening but is a rather drab building during the day. Great show and worthwhile

Step through the doors to the 1930's. Huge reception hall, traditional cloakroom for your coat, a grand staircase, a bar, a bell to call you, wooden seats, an interval (and another trip to the bar)..... all in all a great night out in fabulous, very grand, immaculate surroundings. Oh, and the show's are pretty good too!

Been there for 2 screenings for 2016's Berlinale Film Festival. Loved the atmosphere, the decor, the art deco architecture and that kind of cosy feeling. The theatrical screening room was a blast. It was simply a great experience.

Enjoy the entrance hall with the beautiful decorations. We have been there many times fo r film screening during the Berlinale and it is an amazing atmosphere when the film start. Be aware the leg space is very limited.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
