The Cathedral has a long history which is interesting if you pick up the audio commentary. There are other audio aids dotted around the building with other interesting facts. The decor in the various aspects of the Cathedral were certainly worth seeing, but really nothing more, or less, than other major Cathedrals. I ckickened out of climbing up about 300... More

This Cathedral holds inside it a lot of the German history inside with a cemetery of the Old German royal family and a magnificent view on the dome , where you will spend around 10mins taking the stares .

The cathedral was beautiful. The outside was truly stunning but wait till you see the inside. I was speechless once i entered inside. There were also stairs that took you to the top of the cathedral and you could see the city from the top view. The staird were tiring but it was worth it. The Berlin view was amazing.

In the hustle and bustle of Berlin this is a oasis of calm. Some stunning architectural features and design plus space to rest and reflect.

One of our highlights of the trip, the inside of this building is breathtaking and you get great views from the top. It's 100% better value for money to go here than the TV tower if you want a view of Berlin, as the TV tower is pretty much the only thing higher than this anyway. We also paid for... More

This is a beautiful cathedral and we enjoyed our visit. The staff who greeted us at the desk were friendly and helpful, the tour around the cathedral is interesting and in good weather you can go out on to the roof - unfortunately during our visit this was closed due to snow which was disappointing but understandable. I have marked... More

This cathedral is Berlin's pride & joy. If you do anything on museum island do this. An incredible church with so much history. Climb stairs to the top Dome to see all of Berlin. No need to do the TV tower if you do this. This church is home to royalty and their families tastefully kept in a lower level... More

We were walking around sight seeing and came across this big, beautiful cathedral. The sheer size of it is impressive and the amount of detail and ornament makes this a must see when in Berlin. We walked around it and found a nice spot for lunch with a vew of the river and the cathedral on the other side.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
